From the very red secessionist state of South Carolina (sad photo taken this morning)

Along SC-11 near the F-Mart in Cleveland. I took this with my Canon PowerShot - quickly, from across the road (with my truck in gear, ready to roll).

2. Very sad.

Poverty is much more blind than justice.

3. That truck looks like it was in a demolition derby and then torched on the way home.

Time to get someone to tow it out of there. The metal's probably worth the cost of the tow.

17. That's what I've always called a 'lawn ornament.'

Some coutnry manors have several broken down vehicles to decorate the yard. I've seen a lot of these in the past, but could never see doing it myself.

4. Here in Iowa, some clown was proudly displaying a huge "Stars & Bars" flag flying from the bed

of his Dodge Ram dually, driving down the highway in today's wintry blast conditions! It looked like there was some "business-like" equipment mounted in the bed, so it has to be a kind of work truck. If he showed up at my place to do whatever kind of work he does, I would hand him his walking papers.

7. The owner of my company didn't hire a contractor because he showed up in a Hummer -- and

told him why. Said something like if you show such poor judgment in your choice of vehicles and lack of concern for the environment, I'm not confident in your judgment in making the best choices for me.

6. Is that a "Beware of the Dog" sign...

or an "apartment for Rent" sign sitting on the white chair?

10. Neither, I think ..

It looks like a small cooler. But, usually there is an hand-lettered sign - "Auto Repares" - out front, along with many Harleys.

11. I like the vegetation growing in the gutters

of that country chalet.

Must be a multi-unit condo - based on the two sat dishes.

14. I hope to get a wide-angle shot soon with my 28 mm

Lots more to this little scene. But the "yard" is usually full of bikers.

12. That picture is almost a cartoon. The person or people in that house probably vote against

their best interests in local, state and federal elections.

15. It is an iconic photo from Romney/Bu$h/Jesus land

I'm hoping the burned out pickup remains there long enough for me to re-shoot this with my Canon 5D-Mk2. But, if not, I still have a winner. I need to do a little cropping and shopping though.

I've waited patiently for this photo op. I knew it was coming.

19. I can guess the fine cuisine produced in their kitchen.

Uncle Willie's swamp cabbage stew and chicken feet and rice (which I'll bet really are good).
