RW meme of the day: re-writing Obama's support and history of border security

What President Obama said (reported by Huff Post at least):
The president made no such requirements, although he also proposed enhanced border enforcement. Obama laid out his idea for a pathway as he often has before. He said he would require undocumented immigrants to receive a background check, pay taxes and a fine, learn English and go to the "back of the line" behind would-be immigrants who have applied for a visa from outside of the United States.

He also emphasized enforcement and border security, touting accomplishments the administration has made in that realm already. The Obama administration has repeatedly broken the record for deportations in a fiscal year, last year removing more than 400,000 people. Obama noted that there has been progress, but said there is still more to be done on border security and enforcement, particularly of employers that knowingly hire undocumented immigrants.

Rush Limbaugh today
Well, folks, the president's gone out to Las Vegas today, and he is going to make the point that he doesn't want any border enforcement in his immigration bill. He's going to oppose that aspect of the Senate bill. He's gonna make a point of saying he doesn't want border enforcement in this, and certainly not first.

I'm just a casual observer here. But if the Gang of Eight is promising everybody border enforcement will happen, that's the common denominator, that's the thing that has to happen, and the president is out there saying, "I'm not gonna have any border security." I mean, Obama's gonna go to Vegas and make a speech and oppose the Senate bill's border enforcement requirements.

And he's making a point that he's not going to support this whole notion of border security. Of course he's not. The Democrat Party doesn't want a secure border.

And open borders is a great way to provide an influx of what I call the need that they have here for permanent underclass. They're also future voters.

I heard Hannity on the way home say basically the same thing....well he used certain dogwhistle phrases like "Obama...opposes border security...was going to say it today until the Latino caucus told him (TOLD HIM ) not to....." Etc.

Within 2 days this will be legend and lorre amongst the RW whackjobs. Never mind what he said or what is proposed THIS IS THEIR ISSUE!! even though they did nothing about it in the Bush years (that is why the deportments have increased so dramatically - the agriculture industry NEEDS illegals)

Immigration was addressed in 1986 but fining of employers hiring illegals did not occur as written in the bill. Not only should the illegals pay a fine but the employers should also pay a fine. I have seen over and over employers taking advantage of illegals in not paying them and they sure did not pay the employee taxes required of them. Who is illegal, both the immigrations and illegal employers. In the Bush administration when it was suggested to use National Guard to patrol the borders it was shot down, why, Bush's friends wanted the services of the immigrates.

A Republican congressman wanted a border crossing post re-opened just after 9/11. Terrorists might trudge throught th ehot Arizona/New Mexico desert (when they normally fly into LaGuardia)....to re-open this one checkpoint. They did and they found immigrants coming in not just in plain box trucks but in Coca-Cola and Pepsi etc. trucks - the driver makes $500 or so per and the supervisor leaves some space open - you get the idea.

Well guess who didn't like it...the Western Growers Association. A trade group who stated that they need 1,000 pickers to clear an acre of lettuce (something like that) and because of border crossing posts being re-opened their "members" only had 600 or so.....guess what happened....the border crossing became unmanned again and we get us some lettuce back in the grocery store.

The (voting) market has spoken on this and it will be interesting to see how the Repubs (and Dems) juggle the border security issue with economic issure (read: political donations).
