The sight of Army helicopters and the sound of gunfire...on Houston's south side

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The sight of Army helicopters and the sound of gunfire created a lot of concern Monday afternoon in one Houston neighborhood.

SkyEye 13 HD was over the south side where at first look, it appeared there was a massive SWAT scene happening.

With military helicopters flying above her southeast Houston neighborhood, Frances Jerrals didn't know what to think.

"When you see this, you think the worst. When you hear this, you think the worst," Jerrals said.

There is a concept called normalization, which of course means getting you used to something through a "safe" introduction, then it's there again, then it's always there, and then it might no longer be safe. Like the militarized cops Occupy has encountered for more than a year for peacefully protesting real, actual crime. DHS are the ones not only spying upon Occupy and social movements, but are the ones passing armored vehicles and military gear and weaponry to police agencies (who are tentacles of DHS through the "iWatch" program.

For example, the Los Angeles police department.

when Bush had the color-coded emergency alerts? Obama has discontinued this, because it was over-used, etc.

Also remember there have been a lot of gun nuts threatening to defy any new gun control laws and suggesting who knows what else, lately.
