Under DiFi's proposal, assault weapons
Legally owned before the ban goes into effect are exempt. Won't this cause a huge last minute surge of assault weapons purchases? I better order an ak quick!!

3. Is this a serious post?
Every Assault weapon, assault weapon magazine, ammo, and accessories are nearly COMPLETELY out of stock anywhere. There was a news story that said since the talks of bans Brownells (one of the largest gun retailers in America) sold out of several years worth of inventory in less than a few days. Even regular non-assault weapons not being demonized are sold out everywhere. NRA membership & donations has surged as well.
Market prices for AKs and ARs have more than doubled. Bare stripped AR15 receivers (where the buyer finishes building the gun themself) that used to be $80-$100 are selling for $400-$500. A $13 AR/AK magazine now costs about $50. Not only will there be a surge... It's already happened. And you can bet that EVERY piece of metal stamped with a serial number from now until a ban is signed will be sold and spoken for before the machines are finished making them.
Diane Feinstein is undoubtedly the BEST assault weapon salesperson ever. EVER.
I think the NRA is going mount a bust of her in their lobby and have a banquet in her honor.
