40 degees in Minneapolis. How's the winter treating the rest of the country?

Minnesota is experiencing a unseasonably mild winter this year. The last time I can recall a winter this warm was maybe 1980. Yet I hear that other parts of the country are being hit with some rather atypically extreme weather this winter. How's the weather where you are? (Talking about the weather is a Mn state pastime.)
Btw, I do not believe that this trend will continue; last year was bitterly cold and we were up to our eyeballs in snow.

It should be below freezing all month, except for the traditional January thaw. It has been above freezing for much of the winter. We have had many days in the forties, and even some fifties.

We are having rain and fog, instead of snow. There is only a little snow on the ground, lots of bare patches, and lots of mud. This is not right. My husband watches an ag program that says the winter wheat is sprouting in some parts of Kansas. It will turn dry and brown, and there will will be a lesser yield or no crop at all. The other crops will suffer, too. We are not meant to have mild winters here.

It seems that the upper mid-west has been going through a low key drought for several years. Grand Forks won't have to worry about the Red River flooding them out, but the sugar beet crop will suffer.
If we continue to get warmer here in MN, in 50-60 years the north shore of Superior would be awesome wine country.

Way warmer than it should be, and too little snow. Only one really good snow so far. We should be right at the apex of our winter. This is just wrong.

And no, we don't get the days with highs in the 40s to compensate. Not even when it's rainy and/or windy.

I'm sure all the natives here who whine their asses off when it gets within 10 degrees of freezing just love it, but to me this is very disturbing. Our electric bills triple in the summer trying to keep this apartment we're in cool (cool being defined as under 85 degrees), as it is. As soon as we can afford to move north, we're out of here. I fully expect this town to become uninhabitable in the summer in another couple decades. Summer heat waves in the 130s can't be too far off.

I expect the daffodils and tulips to be rearing their heads any day now. We don't necessarily have cold winters here (Dallas) but we have not had much below freezing this "winter", just a few cold evenings and mornings with hard freezes. I don't remember having a whole winter this mild in my lifetime. There is still time for a proper cold spell, but the way the last year has been down here weather-wise, I doubt it is going to happen.

Forty degrees or so and dreary cold rain.
I know from experience that we can look forward to three weeks of days that don't crack 18.

It's an annual period of depression where I go to bed with 15 degrees on the thermometer and get up the next day to the same temp. It's usually in February.

never seen a winter like this here - in the 60's, 50 BELOW was normal. We have had only two small snow events, barely 12", just unreal. Used to be we had so much snow the horses could walk out of the pasture because the fences were covered with snow.

It's like a spring day, soon the grass will start growing.

We've never had more than 6" of snow on the ground at a time this winter, and I've seen the grass more days than not!

What I expect is a four foot snowfall in mid-March followed by an ice storm in April!

However, this is a cooler than average day for THIS particular January. Yesterday it was 44 for the high, normal high for the date, but the LOW was 38, normal LOW is 22, so the day was 8 full degrees warmer anyway. We have had 1.1 inches of snow this year. It is not uncommon for that much snow to fall during an HOUR in winter. I cannot remember a winter that is so consistently warm and snow free.
