What has the government ever done for Mickelson?

The early years:Wiki
Mickelson was born in San Diego, California, to parents Phil Mickelson Sr. (an airline pilot and former naval aviator) and Mary Mickelson. He was raised there and in Scottsdale, Arizona. Although right-handed otherwise, he plays golf left-handed, as he learned by watching his right-handed father swing and mirroring it. Mickelson began golf under his father's instruction before starting school. Phil Sr.'s work schedule as a commercial pilot allowed them to play together several times a week and an extensive practice area in their San Diego backyard allowed young Phil to hone his creative short game. Mickelson graduated from the University of San Diego High School in 1988. Snip: Mickelson attended Arizona State University in Tempe on a golf scholarship and graduated in 1992. Snip

Follow the bouncing ball>>> His father would have more likely been a taxi driver or a long haul trucker EXCEPT American taxpayers gave him room and board and free access to instructors and jet trainers-probably over $1,000,000 worth so instead he could be a SKY taxi driver back when it paid for a lifestyle that 2 serious paychecks could scarcely match now. That allowed Phil's dad to act as a near full-time coach and one wonders if the courses they played "several times a week" were subsidized public ones? Though it appears his father could have well afforded his son's tuition he gladly grabbed a 4 year full boat scholarship to continue his leisure time passion.

He won his first PGA event while a junior in college and has been payed to "play golf" ever since...

See-he's just like you and me and worked and suffered so hard for his money that it seems unfair to have some taken away by a government that's done nothing for him. I'm glad I'm not forced to "work golf" for a living!

1. Perhaps it would be better to cut the purses in golf

You win a tournament you get $10,000
Endorsements you get $500

so they do not have to worry so much about taxes
and then they could put more time towards golf

2. Not only that he's lying about the rate he pays. Several have done the math and there's no

way he pays 62%. Also, he has had his house on the market since atleast 2011 so there isn't anything "new" about his deciding to move. What a pos. Oh, and his sponsors are the who's who of bad corporate governance. Exxon, AmGen, his accountant KPMG, and Barclays.

3. Either that, or he has a VERY shitty accountant.

I find that as hard to believe as his claim of paying 62%.

4. Maybe he has a really bad or dishonest accountant?

"you're paying 62%, Phil, on your $10 million of income, so your take-home is only $3.8 million." Meanwhile, dishonest accountant pockets $1.2 million in "fees" - which is only in the very fine print on page 87 of the return.

5. Some golfers must be allergic

to paying their fair share. Yesterday I heard Tiger Woods being interviewed and he said he moved from CA to FL because of taxes.

6. Taxi driver, Trucker, or Pilot...

I had to laugh at the juxtaposition of those 3 jobs.

"But I don't want to be a taxi driver or a trucker!"

"Well you could be a pilot then."

"Well, if that's the only other choice, I guess I will be a pilot."

LOL

8. Yeah-that used to be funny....

but tell a Jetblue pilot what an NYC taxi driver makes a week in tips and see if he laughs.
