John McCain, when are you going to resign over Benghazi?

Last edited Thu Jan 24, 2013, 12:16 PM - Edit history (1)

McCain twice said that Chris Stevens communicated to him directly the inadequate security in Benghazi. Secretary of Clinton and President Obama didn't know, according to the Accountability Review Board. But McCain knew and did nothing. So John McCain, when are you going to resign for your failure to prevent the loss of four American lives?

Edit: Excerpt from the transcripts of the hearing, courtesy of Alp227.
McCAIN: Four months after the Benghazi tragedy ó itís a tragedy when we lose four brave Americans ó there are many questions that are unanswered. And the answers, frankly, that youíve given this morning are not satisfactory to me. Were you and the president made aware of the classified cable from Chris Stevens that said that the United States consulate in Benghazi could not survive a sustained assault? Numerous warnings, including personally to me, about the security were unanswered or unaddressed.

It took a CNN reporter looking through the consulate to find Chris Stevensí last warning. When were you made aware of that cable? When were you made aware of the attack on the British ambassador and the assassination attempts and the closing of the consulates there, and what actions were taken? What was the presidentís activities during that seven-hour period?

On the anniversary of the worst attack in American history, September 11th, we didnít have Department of Defense forces available for seven hours. Two brave Americans died in the last hour. With all these warnings, all these things took place, we didnít have a single Department of Defense asset apparently available to come to these rescue.

Followed by:
You knew Chris Stevens very well. I knew him very well. I knew him on July 7th, when I went to Libya to observe the elections. And at that time, on July 7th, he expressed to me his deep and grave concerns about security, particularly in Benghazi. And he continued to communicate with the State Department, and I donít know who else was privy to those cables of his deep concern about the security there and the need for additional assistance. And I will argue with facts that after that event took place, after the fall of Gadhafi, the, quote, soft footprint was partially, to some degree, responsible for the tragedy that took place. The American people and the families of these four brave Americans still have not gotten the answers that they deserve. I hope that they will get them.

11. He's made up these stories before

notably while running for President, saying that he knew where Bin Laden was and having a plan to get him, that he would only use if he was elected. Scumbag.

Can't recall what info he held back that could have helped us, but dangled it during the campaign and promised to reveal this great plan after he was elected. LOL

6. I think they doth protest too much

It is a non issue and yet they won't let go. Some entity has been trying to blow this up since Mitt was running. Who fomented all this trouble to make the administration look bad? I wonder. Follow the money. So politically motivated to cause disruption it stinks.

16. LOL... they don't.

It's all the snowbirds, whose trailers in Az are boarded up 8 months of the year, but remain registered to vote in Az. They come from Idaho, Montana and all other rural red states. The natives end up with nightmares like Jan Brewer as their governor and the likes of SB1070. Southern arizona, if left to the natives, would be blue.

26. Probably...

Many of them are from mittens' religious sect as well, they get special privileges because they are so special (aka, self appointed saints). Remember, mittens also claimed citizenship in two state simultaneously, it's really common in these parts. States with high pop numbers of that bunch include WY, ID, UT, MT, TX, AZ, NV, CA. There are other concentrations elsewhere but this is one big reason these states, except CA, are blood red.

he doesn't appear to have read the report from the review board either, or else his questioning showed no signs of it. Clinton told him to read it.
