9. If true. Four more years of the same shit. Awesome. Way to

snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory.

23. The House has to pass the same bills.

What's the odds of that happening even if the Democrats work around the filibuster in the Senate. If we get the majority of the House in '14, it might make a difference. But it makes no difference right now.

24. Because it puts these goat fucking right wingers on the record for one. Also

the idea was to remove silent holds and move the confirmation process along.

28. It matters a lot for getting judges and other appointees confirmed

If the GOP can exercise a veto over any Supreme Court replacements for the next four years, that's a big difference.

If the GOP can keep ATF from having anyone to run it for the next four years, that's a big difference.

If the GOP can stop the next Elizabeth Warren from being confirmed, that's a big difference.

15. Before the election Tom Harkin told the President

if the filibuster does not get fixed, he just as well might take a 4 year vacation

11. Ughhh.... I really question Reid's

motivation here. Does not make sense, and is very disheartening to the base.

17. He was having problems getting the votes

Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.), a leading liberal, said Wednesday Democrats do not have enough votes to implement the talking-filibuster reform.
He said Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) has suggested a package of more modest reforms to Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.). They include proposals to eliminate filibusters on motions to proceed to new business and to speed the process for sending legislation to conference negotiations with the House.

I'd like to know the names of the Dems who aren't in support of it. They're basically tying Obama's hands.

19. Here you go:

The talking filibuster is an American tradition to bring back. I'm proud of my current senator, Jeff Merkley, and a former senator of mine (Tom Harkin) for trying to restore it. I'm concerned about two other former senators of mine (Diane Feinstein and Barbara Boxer) for not helping us get this restored. Anyway, here's the list of seven senators and the phone numbers to call now and let them know you want a TALKING FILIBUSTER, NOT the nonsense that will do little to fix the problem that is the "bipartisan" thing being shopped by the corporatists that will continue to have us be uninformed and unrepresented.

Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) DC - 202-224-3553
Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) - 202-224-4242
Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) - 202-224-3841
Carl Levin (D-Mich.) - 202-224-6221
Mark Pryor (D-Ark.) - 202-224-2353
Max Baucus (D-Mont.) - 202-224-2651
Jack Reed (D-R.I.) - 202-224-4642

They didn't want to reform it. Period.

20. You can bet your ass the Repubs would not have a problem getting 51 votes if they needed them.

That is what a leader is supposed to do. Now we have to put up with 4 more years of their bullshit?
