Washington BOWS before only ONE God,

and THIS ^ is the Graven Image on their altar.

I find all the medieval religious ceremonies to be a pompous, hypocritical embarrassment to our nation before the World.
Like most civilized countries, we should have moved on a long time ago.

If someone feel the need to pray,
let them do it in private as the Christian Bible commands.

My Personal Opinion

"You cry over spilled champagne! Your complaints are not over the lack of necessities, but the abundance of benefits. You bellyache over the frills, not the basics. Over benefits not essentials. The source of your problem is your blessing."

"To found a great empire for the sole purpose of raising up a people of customers, may at first sight appear a project fit only for a nation of shopkeepers. It is, however, a project altogether unfit for a nation of shopkeepers, but extremely fit for a nation that is governed by shopkeepers." Adam Smith

What does the Good Books say? Oh... a lot.

Ps. 10:3 - "the greedy man curses and spurns God"
Prov. 11:6 - "the treacherous are caught by their own greed"
Jere. 6:13; 8:10 - "everyone is greedy for gain"
Lk. 12:15 - "be on guard against every form of greed; life is not in possessions"
Eph. 4 - "Gentiles...practice every kind of impurity with greediness"
I Thess. 2:5 - "we did not come with pretext for greed"
I Tim. 3:8 - (deacons) "not fond of sordid gain" (cf. Titus 1 )
II Peter 2:3 - (false prophets) "in their greed they will exploit you with false words"
II Peter 2:14 - (false prophets) "have hearts trained in greed"

I agree with bvar22.

...George Bush lied, which is why the Iraq war is considered illegal. I mean, you can't have it both ways, it can't be both an illegal and a legal war.

As for the vote on being a Christian nation, do you think Kucinich was among the "Christians in Congress" who "are hypocrites because they worship the Golden Bull in spite of Jesus' teachings"?

You appear to believe that the votes are connected. My point was addressing this statement in the OP:

...George Bush lied, which is why the Iraq war is considered illegal. I mean, you can't have it both ways, it can't be both an illegal and a legal war.

I believe that the war was illegal because we invaded a sovereign nation that was not a threat to us making it not "just", immoral and illegal. Congress voted to let an idiot use our military to kill possibly a million people including hundreds of thousands of innocent children. Congress abdicated their responsibility because they were cowards and used the transparent lies of Georgie as their excuse.

As for the vote on being a Christian nation, do you think Kucinich was among the "Christians in Congress" who "are hypocrites because they worship the Golden Bull in spite of Jesus' teachings"?

I think that all people that claim to be Christian but worship the almighty dollar are hypocrites.

You appear to believe that the votes are connected. My point was addressing this statement in the OP:

...every Senator believed that Iraq was moving toward WMD, even Russ Feingold.

You cannot claim that Congress declared war and then call it illegal. You would be able to claim it's immoral, but not illegal.

Congress has the power to declare war, and given the faulty evidence presented, they acted.

Bush further lied and ignored the parameters of the IWR.

Your main purpose here seems to be to give Bush a pass.

On Thu Jan 17, 2013, 05:08 PM,
In Post #20 of this thread:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022209573
You fabricated a quote, posted it to DU,
And signed my name to it.

In Post #29 of that thread I challenged you to produce your source,
or retract your fabricated quote.
You refused.

At THAT point, your error became something more than a simple careless mistake.
It became willful misrepresentation of member of DU for partisan gain.
I take that seriously.
You should take that seriously too, as should the other members our community.

Since you have declined to correct your mistake,
I no longer wish to engage in discussion or debate with you.

The power to rectify this situation lies solely in YOUR hands.
Produce your source, or post a retraction of the fabricated quote.
It IS a question of values.

sincerely,

Not all of them are Republicans.
In fact, Democrats held a significant majority in 2007.

7: "And then, the High Priests of Wall Street promised a catastrophe greater than The Great Flood if America didn't offer a sacrifice that was Pleasing to Them."

8:"The Acolytes assembled in great fear,
and ordered their minions to gather with haste and without question the required sacrificial offering from the treasury of the peasants as commanded.
The days numbered only 7 before the Sacrifice was offered up to the gods.

9:And the wrath of Wall Street was appeased,
and the cataclysm was averted,
and there was much celebration among the RICH.
Cries of "Thank Gawd it Passed !" were heard throughout the land."

Thus...it is written.

I don't expect them to represent me.
I expect them to represent the RICH.
I don't blame dogs for being dogs.
I don't blame Republicans for being Republicans.
Why should they listen to me?
Why should they give ME a voice in their party?

I AM a Democrat.
I send my money to The Democrats.
I have helped Democrats get elected for over 45 years.
I GOTV for Democrats.
I expect Democrats to represent ME,
a humble, Working Class Dirty Hands Blue Collar American.
I expect to have a voice in MY Party.

When Democrats behave like Republicans by doing the bidding of The RICH,
I become angry, and feel betrayed.
When Democrats behave like Republicans,
I will raise my voice, and let them know about it.
I have EARNED that right.

The Democratic Party IS a Big Tent,
but there is no room for those who advance the agenda of THE RICH (Corporate Owners) at the expense of the Working Class and The Poor.

32. The Grail was a cup that was used to slake the thirst of the crucified God.
Tue Jan 22, 2013, 07:54 PM
Jan 2013

When the son of god was speared through his heart some of the sacred blood ran into the grail, forever staining it and granting anyone having a virtuous heart who drank from it,immortality.
Today there are knights of commerce who seek the grail and immortality of a kind, but a false golden cup which is loaded with cash and stained with the blood of impoverished children, who every single day,die of complications due to a condition called poverty.

They contend that this way is just and proper, because the lord singled them out to have dominion over the earth and everything(Everyone)within it.

Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

This is a vital cornerstone of christianity, found on the first page of the first book which was written by moses in the torah and much later adopted at the council of nicaea for the bible in what is now called genesis in the old testament.
Moses set himself up to be the chosen one just as the uber-priveleged do today and who give charter to what was supposed to be a democracy of by and for the people.

Moses destroyed the so called commandments of god with the golden calf and we only have his word as to what actually happened on the mountain top.
In Arturian legend,a simple boy is chosen by god to lead the world to christianity after the fall of the western empires.
Arthur needed the grail so that he might rule eternally but his heart was made weary and so he abdicated.
Legend has it that one day,Arthur will return to rule again.

Today an empire is in sunset, the wealthiest, healthiest, happiest, productive and educated nation that the world has ever seen is slipping into decay just like every empire which came before it.
It is easy to say"oh they all got to be too big and the logistics were just too great an obstacle to overcome!".
But this is not quite the truth of it,now is it?
We ignore this at our own peril.
When material things become so important that wealth is needed to crush those who have none, that is the turning point where the foundations of empire, crumble.

At the end of the day, people are the only real treasure.
Not Money and not some eternal real estate giveaway in a bronze age fantasy.
After we depart this life,we live through those who come after us and believe me,they will judge us by what we do,right now.
