1. I didn't know the CEO was an ass

I shop there quite often because of the organic food they sell.Even there deserts are mainly made with organic ingredients looks like I might have to switch to Weagmans

8. Read the labels.

Most of what they present as "organic" is actually far from it.

I was "sucked in" to a lot of their propaganda, until I did a little research. They are the furthest thing from a "Whole Foods" store that I could imagine. They are trying to make a profit, nothing more. And they do it by presenting themselves as something other than what they are.

I hate them. They are the worst kind of evil, trying to present themselves as something they aren't.

3. The thing that's goofy is that Whole Foods provides good health insurance for its team members

I worked there from 2005 to 2010. Unlike most employers, they provide health insurance to their part time employees as well as their full time employees. Health insurance is $10 a month once you've worked 800 hours, about 20 full time weeks. You can pay for coverage of dependents, spouses and domestic partners, and after a few years, Whole Foods pays for their coverage too.

So I don't know what John Mackey's beef is except that he's a libertarian and he doesn't like the government telling him how to run his business, even if he's already doing what they've asked.

5. Well, there you go.

Your last sentence is why there is a need for a name change.

4. For a second there

I thought the title was serious, and the corp. was going to try and evade its' CEOs blunder.

6. I have several friends that work at the whole foods here in Austin.

I'm not going to name which store because several of them work at different ones, but there are two types at whole foods: those who refer to each other as "foodies" and the other type who who hate that term and refer to the store as "the hole".

7. If they think Whole Foods is a "hole"

I suggest they try working at another grocery store. If Whole Foods was a bad place to work it would have high turnover and lots of openings. They don't. Most locations you have to know somebody to get an interview. It's not perfect. No place is, but some people are never happy.

9. LOL I saw up thread the pro-whole foods thread you wrote.

You are a foodie. LOL

and Texas being a "right to work" state there is no good place to work as long as workers aren't properly represented.
