1. Credit to Roberts for getting it correct the second time.

If he were the politically driven, rightwing zealous crusader (as he is made out to be by some at DU), he would have let it go, and the legitimacy of his assumption of office would have been challenged.

3. I think I read that President Obama will have

the distinction of being sworn in four times! Twice in 2009, once today and once tomorrow. Another note for the history books.

6. Yes, he was.

But that is irrelevant to my point.

7. No: Once is a forgivable mistake. Twice is...

...either purposeful or idiocy. He likely would not likely be known for either one.

9. I was there in 2009

I think they were both nervous & overcome by the emotional & historical impact of what was happening. The crowd where I was standing didn't seem to care; we just wanted Obama to get to the part where he said "I will." It wasn't until I got back to my hotel that I started getting phone calls about it & how upset the crowd was. Really? We were too freaking COLD!!! The only thing that upset me was the way the port-o-potties were set up deliberately to cage people in & thus cause bottle-necks as people tried to get off of the Mall.
