No More Guns: Time Warner Cable Bans Semi-Automatic Weapons From Ads

A major semi-automatic gun ban just went into effect in America, without the President, Congress or any other government entity doing a thing.

In a statement obtained by Multichannel.com, Time Warner Cable, the second largest cable provider in the country, announced:

We no longer accept ads showing semi-automatic weapons and guns pointed at people. We stand by this policy. If its essential to a business owner to show this kind of imagery in their commercials, there are other advertising options in the marketplace.

1. It will be curious to see if and how quickly they move to exclude movie ads (at least

those from related companies) from this restriction. And other than movies, how many TV ads involve guns being pointed at people? Toy ads?

PRIVATE businesses refusing to show, or SELL, them.

3. How about movies and TeeVee shows?

Have they banned them too? Really? Well why not? Oh, it would effect their money...I see..unlike this ban which has no effect on their money since I can't remember the last AR15 ad I saw...FFS

6. I don't think I've ever seen TV ADs showing semiauto guns pointed at other people.

Are there any examples?
Maybe for the COPS TV shows. I don't know - I don't watch much Cable TV.
