PETITION: Steubenville rape case investigated by higher courthttp://www.causes.com/causes/810078-justice-in-steubenville/actions/1722749?utm_source=causes&utm_medium=newsletter&utm_campaign=WE771_1304&causes_ref=email&template=newsletter_mailer/newsletter To: Mike DeWine, Ohio Attorney General We demand that Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine launch a new investigation of all evidence that has been released regarding the Steubenville 'rape crew'. The investigation that took place within the Steubenville legal system has been insufficient. Steubenville has refused to acknowledge new evidence and all charged rapists have been released on bail. A new investigation should take into account all forms of evidence available and provide fair prosecution and defense to all parties. MORE at link.

1. "all charged rapists have been released on bail"

Not sure I understand how that part fits with "fair prosecution and defense to all parties". Is "charged rapists" shorthand for "defendants charged with rape", or did someone decide that all persons who were charged, and are out on bail, are guilty? Was bail set too low? Are they flight risks? Or is there some exception to normal bail procedures apart from "fair prosecution and defense to all parties"? |

Doesn't seem to exactly square with "provide fair prosecution and defense to all parties." |
