Fox News Signs Dennis Kucinich As Contributor

Fox News Signs Dennis Kucinich As Contributor
By Alex Weprin on January 16, 2013 3:50 PM

Fox News Channel has signed former Congressman Dennis Kucinich as a paid contributor to FNC and Fox Business network. Kucinich, who was for years a liberal stalwart in the House of Representatives, will provide analysis and commentary across all of FNC and FBN’s programs, beginning with Thursday’s edition of “The O’Reilly Factor.”

“I’ve always been impressed with Rep. Kucinich’s fearlessness and thoughtfulness about important issues,” said Fox News chairman and CEO Roger Ailes in a statement. “His willingness to take a stand from his point of view makes him a valuable voice in our country’s debate.”

Kucinich represented Ohio’s 10th district in Congress for 16 years, officially leaving office earlier this month. He also ran for President in 2004 and 2008, seeking the Democratic nomination.

That's JUST what Democrats need, somebody attacking them from the left on Faux Snooze.

Done. With. Kucinich.

2. As long as he doesn't let himself be used as a punching bag it's ok.

They can use a dose of real progressive ideals over there.

4. you know damned well and good any panel he's on will have at least three conservatives

to shout him down.

The only thing they'll let him say is any shit that is opposed to the Democrats.

6. Perhaps.

And perhaps they'll let him go at it one on one as the MSNBC shows do with conservatives.

And I don't care if he opposes Democrats where they need to be opposed.

9. First, he's a contributor, not an anchor.

Second, that's not how Fox operates. They NEVER go one on one with any liberal contributor. Liberal contributors are ONLY used in panels.

And if they changed, the only time they would use him in one on one situations will be where he is being hyper critical of Democrats.

12. I didn't say he was an anchor.

He would be like Michael Steele is on MSNBC. I know the difference.

And again, so what if he's critical of Democrats? They need to be criticized in many cases.

I'm not going to be watching regardless. I don't begrudge the guy a job.

15. That is not true. I have gone one on one numerous times with the hosts on Fox. I'm interested to see

how Kucinich will work out on Fox.

If in their wildest expectations, that possibilty occurred to the faux bigwigs, they'd have never signed him on......

No, he'll speak the truth and they'll rip him apart after he goes off the segment.

8. I think it was in Al Franken's "Lying Liars"...

...that he spelled out the Faux news MO. Basically, he said that they hire unattractive Liberals and pit them against attractive Conservatives.

This fits that MO.

7. That is exactly fauxes intent to divide the progressives. However, I doubt many progressives will

Watch that rag network, so only the radical right will see it, probably use it to generalize ALL Democrats, forgetting or ignoring that Democrats are much more inclusive than they will ever be
And one size does not fit all

18. So now Fox News will have someone attack Obama from the left

I don't see this as good. Now Fox has all their bases covered. They attack Obama from the right, now they finally found someone who will attack Obama left. It's definitely not must-see TV.

20. Here is why I give Dennis no quarter

It is one thing for a Cenk, a Rachel or even an Arianna Huffington to slam Obama, they are journalists (well, Arianna is not, but she has enough money to act like one), not elected official. Dennis is not naive enough to think he will be anything but a pawn. He deserves no mercy, save if he volunteered and did not take ONE penny. You take money from the GOP you become their pawn, whether you plan to or do not plan to.
