Republicans can only win by CHEATING.. And they don't care if you know it!

Rachel had a very interesting piece at the end of yesterday's show.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26315908/vp/50477422#50477422

The very same gerrymandering that they are SO PROUD of in keep control of The House is being put into place to twist the next Presidential race in 2016. By removing the "winner-take-all" formula for electoral votes in the 100% Red controlled states, they could STEAL the election.

And they aren't shy about this. They think, how clever.. we can be losers with barren fields of ideas and STILL run the Country.. Even though Americans really really don't want us to.

They know they've lost the battle of ideas, they know Americans don't want them running things.. and they intend to run things ANYWAY.

At least!!

I've said, too many times to count, now, that:If ANY other organized group conspired to damage this country,as the goops have, they'd quickly find themselves facing RICO statute charges....

And I can only surmise that the ONLY reason the gop doesn't and has not,is for the precedent it would set.....

America needs to give them a seriously long time in the time out corner.

It would be interesting to know how many American's know what the term 'gerrymandering' means & how it impacts their daily life.

Tell the country that if the Republicans think this is such a good idea that we need to do this on the national level.

This is really a good idea if all states do it.

affect gerrymandering has on national elections. President Obama won by 5 million votes, you can't easily gerrymander away 5 million votes. The OP was talking about only the battleground states, not really the red states. With all states going district by district the red states along with the battleground states would have to give up some Democratic votes. The Democratic votes gained in the red states would probably cancel out the Republican votes gained in the battleground states. Of course the blue states would lose a few Democratic votes also. Hard to say just what the outcome would be but it would be closer to a democratic vote. Anything that gets us closer to a democracy is good as far as I am concerned.

The best way would be to get rid of the electoral college all together.

Even though more votes were cast for Dem candidates?

If all states had done this, we'd be screaming about President Romney's plan to appoint Ted Nugent to the Supreme Court, or joking that First Dog Seamus was tied to the roof of the White House.

What would be a good idea, if and only if all states did it, would be for each state to cast its electoral votes for the winner of the national popular vote, effectively neutralizing the Electoral College.

but it drops like a stone in the discussion forums.

Question is, what can we do about it? The only way i can see to remedy these laws (and they will happen, guaranteed) is citizen ballot initiatives and referendums after the laws pass but before the 2016 elections. Tricky.

Here we are presented with a Theory that the republicans are Conspiring to change the electoral college so that they can win more elections.

And to boot, you even claim: "Americans don't want them running things.. and they intend to run things ANYWAY."

Have you not noticed that DU is moving away from such drastic comments and allegations against the republicans? Any minute now there will be a host to come and lock this so that we Democrats can appear more centered and not be nicer to the republicans....

I've noticed that certain posters with an agenda to keep us stupid just love to put down free speech that offends them as "nutty."

They like the MSM to tell us what to think, because they love the MSM.

Either that or they are just plain chicken. Maybe they are chickens who are afraid of anything that is not from the MSM?

Nah, they have an agenda... they want us to be sheople. They actually conspire to keep us a stupid as them and then complain when anybody talks about the republicans conspiring to run this country. As if republicans never conspire to cheat, steal, and lie their way to power!

They (who complain about our theories) actually conspire to keep us a stupid as them (who trust the MSM) and then (they) complain when anybody (us) talks about the republicans conspiring to run this country (as in the OP).

IOW, Some on DU conspire to keep us from talking about the republicans conspiring to cheat us.
