Morning Jerk asks this morning: "What is wrong with these people?" (NRA)

for the Obama daughters ad and the new shooting app,

Mika just keeps repeating, "they are sick, sick, sick."

Armed guards in schools means more gun sales for the gun manufacturers. It's simple, Joe.

3. So at this point in time the game is to keep the NRA talking.

People are starting to realize exactly how unwholesome the whole package is and the best spokesman to continue waking people up is the NRA itself.

Let them talk about requiring guns in every school.

Let them talk about how the only way to prevent violence is for everyone to gun up.

Let them talk about what a reasonable arsenal and weapon is.

If the Morning Jerk is tut-tutting it, it's because he has a pulse on the apathetic middle in the country -- the message out of Reston might be doing some damage to the NRA cause.

So force them to talk more. Have them give their vision for the ideal combination of guns and America. I've always detested it but I've been paying attention...

12. Yes, IMHO, this is very similar to what happened/is happening...

to the Republicans in general. Keep them talking and talking and people realize just how out of touch and out there they are.

4. I wish I could say to him about his argument with Donny Deutsh as bout video games

is that his chauvinistic attitude toward women is also a factor in violence for those who watch and subscribe to his actions.

16. My opinion of

his video game argument being equivalent to assault weapons is a diversion away from the main issue. The difference is one is a deadly weapon used to kill people and one is only an expression of visual effects or speech. If Joe has any legal education, he should know this. I don't know how much Meka has. You cannot kill anyone with a video game but with the deadly weapon.

His argument is also off base with video games connection to Hollywood. Visual and dramaticization effects is not just produced by Hollywood but in plays and Theaters also. Has he ever read a play of Shakespeare or seen Romeo and Juliet. Video games are also produced by other Industries and not just Hollywood if any. And besides, Dramaticiization can also distinguish between good and evil in society as a learning tool.

The Problem with the NRA is they promote guns as only good in Society for protecting oneself against bad guys. What they don't teach is guns are used only to cause serious injury or kill. What should be advocated is the preservation of life and no one should use a gun unless it is the last resort. To the NRA, everybody is a bad guy. The only good thing, if there ever was one is profits for them. And I would use an episode of Star Trek as a learning tool. The episode when an Alien invaded the Enterprise and had Cleons fighting against the crew of the Enterprise. Guess which role is the NRA.

33. IMO, It's important to give credit where credit is due!

Maybe you'll understand if you see it:

Video: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3036789/ns/msnbc-morning_joe/#50480124

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10022201657

“What’s wrong with these people, Mika?” MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough asked co-host Mika Brzezinski. “You have children who had no say in the decision in whether their father, who is going to step forward to be president of the United States, to run for president — one of the most bone-crushing, sacrificing things any husband or wife can do to their family. And the second they make that decision, their children and their entire family have targets on their backs.”

“And the NRA is putting something out?” he continued. “What’s wrong with these people? Putting out apps that 4 year olds can play on the anniversary of the Newtown murders and now putting out an ad talking about the president’s daughters.”

They have on good guests for politics junkies like me.

I roll my eyes whenever joe says, I'm a conservative and I believe...

But he's not as much of a jerk anymore.

who are you & what did you do with Joe Scarborough?

But, while it did take him a while to wake up, kudos for him for doing so, at least on this issue.

21. I'm impressed that he hasn't flipped on his NRA tirades

Usually when Joe does come out on the right side of indignation over an issue it's usually just a matter of days (or show segments) before he flips back to the opposite side.

That he's maintained consistency on his going after the NRA is surprising...in a good way.

31. Scar is just faking it for now...

pretending to be reasonable but,he can't control himself when his real thoughts come out on set they take him off the set for a few segments so that his meds can kick in then he comes back as the great pretender..

He was arguing with Donny Deustch and start hollering about movies and entertainment are at fault. He mentioned Quentin Tarantino, didn't hear anything about Swarzenegger,Bruce Willis, and the rest of the gang.

18. I stopped watching him months ago. But not sure what I am going to do now

that Current has been sold. I have become addicted to Bill Press and Stephanie Miller in the AM. Hoping they will be kept on, but I seriously doubt it. Glad to hear that Joe is not as much of a jerk now, but not sure I could go back to watching him. BTW, "Morning Jerk" good one.

26. I too am addicted, especially to Stephanie.

I get up at 5am pst and like to drink my coffee and take my time waking up. I am a news/political junkie and I used to have to start my day w/ Morning Joe because CNN is too fluffy and safe. After finding Bill and Stephanie, my days are now started off the right way, with humor and intelligence! I don't know yet what can possible replace this wonderful addition. I wish MSNBC would take them on.

20. Write or call your congressperson, people. The ad literally chilled me to the bone.

Turn your righteous anger into progressive action. Talk to your neighbors and ask them to make contact, too. Help them if they're unsure of how to reach out.

I was gerrymandered from a district represented by one of the most progressive members of congress to one with a congressman who is a member of the tea party caucus.

Your representative needs to know you are paying attention.

Be respectful and speak from the heart.

This is how change happens. The election proved that there are more of us than the teabaggers. We must make our voices louder than theirs.

22. Joe was being disingenuous with his Quentin Tarantino example.

I sent him a little parody of Will's producer at the Globe telling Will to "dial it back, Will baby, Ya know I love ya but Joe Scarborough is going all 'violence in the media" on my ass! that character talking about 'disemboweling' the other guy was pretty bad, but when his severed head was brought out on a spike by the other guy, it was just over the top!"

23. I think the real problem

gun manufacturers face is an inability to build planned obsolescence into their products. Unlike other instrument with moving parts, a gun can continue to shoot for a very, very long time. Hence, for gun manufacturers to remain profitable, the number of firearms in society and their lethality must continually increase if for no other reason than to maintain enough novelty to encourage new purchases.

24. That's deep. I think you hit it on the head.

Never quite thought about it like that before.
It's not like videogame systems or computers which constantly upgrade.
It's not like food which can be consumed & eaten.
It's not like clothes which go out of style or wear out over time.

Guns have more staying power as a product so to keep up a gun industry, they have to make more people to sell guns to and/or sell more guns to the people who already have them.

Businessmen are short-sighted by design.
They're clever but not necessarily wise.
When business goes too far society suffers.

I love it when people think like this!
When people get to the root causes of a problem.
When people figure out how the mechanism of a phenomenon works.
What you said makes SO much sense, sulphurdunn.
It's one reason I LOVE online forums. You just learn so much from other people's experiences.

27. Morning jerk's a megalomaniac jerk arguing he knows better than scientific studies so video games

& violent movies are the problem even though other countries have them too.

Kind of like he knew better that job numbers were doctored, polls were skewed & blames Obama not putting a gun to GOTP head to stop snubbing him & socialize with him.

What an idiot Joe is, you can't socialize with people who snub your invitations & say their #1 priority is to obliterate you by any means necessary. Joe's the biggest GOTP fool but NRA is much worse & that's saying a lot.

Obama needs to come out & stop letting GOTP off the hook when he says he'll spend less time with his girls. they're snubbing you, Obama, tell the country. Stop covering for GOTP bigots & racist scum bags.

32. Joe Scar and David Frum and Michael Steele are all "MSNBC Repubs"

Meaning they are Republicans with a tiny bit of sense. I guess Mark Halperin can be added in sometimes except when he says crap about the President. But reasonable Repubs used to exist. My right wing father sees Joe as not a conservative. I see him as a moderate Republican. David Frum is the smartest of the bunch but Repubs won't listen to him. I hope they don't, he has already talked about the destructive force Faux News has had on the Repub party.
