Emailing MSNBC once again re: S.E. Cupp

Her insipid mini rant about the terminology used in the discussion of gun regulation was just stupid. Why, why, why do they keep her on?

1. They keep her on because she looks like a younger Sarah Palin ...

and she spouts the same nonsense.

The get some RW eyeballs just by having her there. The nuts probably love seeing her "debate" the others (even if she fails terribly).

At the break, I think Martin Bashir wanted to smack her logic silly, but he kind of held back.

2. She certainly got snippy with him, didn't she?

She never debates at all but always reads prepared rants with cutesy puns in them.

8. I think that during The Cycle, Sippy Cupp is allowed to say almost

any crazy thing, and the others, if they disagree, do so only in passing.

Martin isn't going to do that ... he spanked her nonsense ... and you could see her become flustered because he dared to challenge her.

9. OMG, that's it

the dark hair, the glasses, the grating voice, and of course, the retro politics. She's a younger version of Caribou Barbie that can't debate either.

15. About her glasses...

I happened to be watching her one day (my God, I can't explain why) and the camera had her in view from behind. My eye focused on seeing threw her glasses from that angle, and not only were they filthy, you could tell they were NOT prescription. They're a prop.

10. No, I think she got slobber smacked real good.

Bashir asked her about Loghner and the 30 round magazine. Her only response? We should stop killing one, not ten + one!

So, can't entirely eliminate every single homicide? Don't try for any.

3. That's one of the pro-gun tactics to derail the discussion. Long sidebars about what is an assault

weapon.

5. All guns are assault weapons when used against another human.

If you point a gun at someone, you are committing an assault by virtue of the threat it portends. AND, the language used by some of these gun rights people is assaultive as well, particularly when implying that acts of violence and mayhem will ensue if anyone regulates gun safety in any manner.

6. It's probably irrelevant if Obama goes for a ban on them their will be a new definition

and it will be made in light of that last experience...wherein gun manufactures did their best to get around the definition

I don't watch Sippy Cup. I don't know why people do, unless they enjoy that nails on the blackboard thing.

12. Cupp is a joke and embarassing to MSNBC overall, and they know it. Notice...

she's never on any other MSNBC shows the way all the others Cyclists are....

14. I don't usually watch The Cycle. I came in from

running errands and tuned in for Martin Bashir (a few minutes early) and caught the tail end of her little rant. Whatever their reason for keeping her, I think it's really hurting any chance for success of The Cycle.

17. she is the token conservative

MSNBC has to have her on there, just so they can say "See? Not everyone on our channel is a liberal." I suspect they keep Joe Scar for the very same reason.

I don't like her either, but there is a reason she is on there. As long as people keep watching, she'll remain there.

19. Her whole name is: Special Effects Cupp

Just like you said...she's on there for show.
BTW, I don't like her insipid ranting either.
No logic, just talking points tossed into the word salad.
