Oh for gawd's sake! SC has enough trouble without this!

The coming weeks will reveal whether Sanford’s political career has a few more chapters waiting to be written, with the first hurdle coming in a GOP primary March 19. There will likely be a runoff on April 2.
Geraghty: The word is that you’re going to run for the House of Representatives in South Carolina’s First Congressional District.
Mark Sanford: Officially we’re going to announce tomorrow, and then it’s off to the races.

And his wife isn't. That is the only thing that would make it worthwhile. Jenny would whomp him.
They commissioned a poll and his favorability ratings were near absolute ZERO in that district and not much better around the state.

2. A nest of vipers

I watch historical TV- too much actually. I think I've streamed every available historical documentary on Netflix. I once heard an historian being interviewed and he was discussing a politician who referred to SC as "a nest of vipers". I have searched for the source as I have forgotten who he attributed it to. Anyone know?
