Bobby Jindal: Abolish corporate taxes, raise sales taxes by 75 percent

Sounds fair?

The local press is reporting that, in order to keep his proposal revenue neutral, Jindal is considering hiking the state sales tax from 4 to 7 percent. That’s a 75 percent increase in a tax primarily paid for by the middle and working class. This would involve a huge shift in tax responsibilities from the rich — the state currently has three income tax brackets which require wealthier citizens to pay more — to the rest of Louisiana.

2. He's been doing a good job screwing the people of his state so...

he might as well fuck them over anyway he can. Is there any hope that they will ever vote him out of office?

7. Don't feel bad. I live in a Blue State that is about to elect a big fat....

republican (for the 2nd time!) doing a Tony Soprano imitation. It's like a bad dream....I just hoping the country gets wise to him before he runs for President in 2016.

3. Sales tax where I live is 8%

so I'm in the group that doesn't find this much to get outraged over. Although that is a pretty steep hike.

8. Here in my county in Ala. sales tax is 9.5%!

On everything except prescription drugs.
Next door in Fla. no sales tax, which is good for people in Mobile who can drive to Pensecola in just a few minutes
but I live too far, the gas would eat the savings.

Just to give them an incentive to get off of them?

6. Who cares. Good patriots realize that we must be taxed for everything. We're only

working four months out of the year for free to pay the government as it stands. What's another week or two added every couple of years?
Our children will thank us.

*dripping sarcasm*
