Hannity comes out in favor of secession

And this is the guy lectures us on everyone else's 'radical associations'

Why do conservatives hate America so much?

"If this pattern continues and gets worse and worse and worse, I can see at some point the states saying, ‘Forget it. I don’t want to be a part of this union anymore.’”

Hannity rejected the idea that secession is necessarily a “radical concept,” arguing that the Declaration of Independence is itself a “radical document.”

“There is a tipping point in all of these debates,” he said. “Now, politically speaking, that means people are going to be thrown out of office, I hope. But if not, there are going to be people in more conservative states that have had enough. I can see a state like Utah saying, ‘Enough is enough,’ a state like Texas saying, ‘Enough is enough.’ I absolutely can.”

Derp!

Somewhere Lincoln and Thaddeus Stevens are rolling in their graves over what has become of their Republican Party.

1. And no more federal money for them..

and their US passports will be no good, and they certainly won't want to use US currency, tainted as it is by them commie librul marxist Kenyan tree hugging dirt worshipping atheist Moslems. I suggested in another thread that they could adopt a new monetary system, modelled on the system used on the planet Mongo, headed by Emperor Ming.

On Mongo, the money is called mingoes, named of course after the leader. Following that pattern, the new money in Texas would be Perryos, and the money in Utah would be something like Smithoes, or Brighams.

Edited to add: also, Hannity is a tool.

It's as though the Civil War never happened.

All those lives, and for what?

So this idiot can talk about the merits of secession.

28. Ask yourself this....What is the Value of Remaining United?

Stop and think about it for while.

I do not advocate a violent separation but I think it should be discussed.

If we as a people could have a do over so to speak what would people want, the same or something different?

How many on the left would support forming a Democratic Socialist Parliamentary form of Government with a strong social safety net based upon what the Scandinavian countries are doing?

How many on the right would support creating a gun toting theocracy like Somalia? Which IMHO is what they really want.

Well, I don't know, but the last thing I want if to live next to a nation of these fools with no one to keep them in check. If it comes down to it, I'd rather defeat them in a civil war and take over their land than let them have their own country. I don't want them creating an American Taliban armed with nuclear weapons.

8. Funny. If someone on the left had said the same thing 8 yrs ago, Hannity would be demanding

That they be shipped off to Gitmo.

Speaking of which, didnt Hannity volunteer to be waterboarded at one point? Now that he's outed himself as a seditious anti-USA terrorist, it might be useful to find out what sorts of America- hatin' plots he's hatchin' under that thar hair helmet.

18. It is apparent that Hannity does not know anything about Texas.

In 2008 over 3.5 MILLION of us Texans voted for President Obama.
In 2012 over 3.3 MILLION of us Texans voted for President Obama

In both presidential elections Obama won the majority of our largest cities/counties including: Austin/Travis, Dallas/Dallas, Houston/Harris, San Antonio, El Paso, etc.

There are millions of Democrats in Texas - and we are NOT going anywhere.

The number of folks in Texas that spout off about secession is a small drop in the ocean.

25. I Guess He Forgot the South Tried That Already

Okay dumbass. You cannot leave the union. And despite views to the contrary Texas has no right to go back to being a sovereign nation although I'd support getting rid of them. Just having Rick Perry gone would be a huge plus.

The South tried leaving the union in the 1800s with disastrous results. How you cannot remember that baffles me. Frankly I'd be rather okay with those idiots leaving the union. Mississippi and Alabama are quite a drain on federal resources. I think they have three teeth between all their populace and an average IQ of about 20. Recently my home state of TN has proved to have some of the biggest idiots. How that Yeager guy is not incarcerated is strange. Threating to start killing people is certainly wrong.

27. Hannity is a clown however why not have a civil discussion on the secession of a state(s)

Do not states and people have a right to self-determination?

There is a large percentage of people who want to live in a gun toting theocracy why can’t they if that is what they want? That is just reality today.

Why cannot they have their own place or nation? I see nothing wrong with it. Treat them the same any other nation, make em sign trade agreements, participate in the UN, issue passports to enter the USA seeing that they will no longer be part of the USA.

If things stay on the current path, I see this nation imploding within my life time and I am 52.

I see nothing wrong with having a peaceful and civil discussion with those who wish to from their own nation.

34. Fine with me. But which states would be sacrificed?

As far as I'm concerned, none of them.

If they'd like to prevail upon the Kook Brothers to buy a couple million acres somewhere for their paradise, have at it. Wherever they buy it, the nation that surrounds it may have a differing opinion, but that's for them to work out. Being rough tough He-Man and She-Woman individualists, I'm sure they'd find a way.

But U.S. territory? Forget it. I was born here, and I'm not going anywhere. And I repeat to them the phrase I heard so often during the sixties and seventies: Love it or leave it.

35. Their preference would be some place in the south as it would be mine

Or in the Midwest which I am ok with too.

Put it to the vote that would require 100% mandatory participation of all persons living in the state 12 years of age or older. 75% or more want to go it alone, so be it. Create transition plan for those who want to leave. Those who leave are compensated per a financial agreement prior to the vote.

It could also go the other way too, the more liberal states could do it too. CA, WA and OR would make a fine nation if you ask me.

Win, win for all, I say.

37. Not necessarily

But yes on it being a large logistics problem.

Let the people decide, I say.

Beats the alternatives and it would keep the real loons busy for a while thinking if they behave they can have their own place and by the time it takes to even get to a vote which would take years if not decades most would have died of natural causes and the rest of us would just move forward.

There is a method to my madness!
