Brian Williams is HAMMERING Romney on his taxes.
Switzerland, Luxembourg, Caymans, etc.
And Romney keeps saying the same thing: (not a direct quote) "I'm sure most Americans don't resent people who are successful, and I've been EXTRAORDINARILY successful at running a business. And I'm sure Americans don't want to see job creators (like him?!?) punished with a high tax rate, etc..." He just doesn't get it...

6. It was on network NBC--actually it was over by the time I finished writing this.
|
But I'm sure it'll be replayed and dissected on MSNBC fairly soon...

5. Sorry, but I don't think Mitt was running a business.
|
He was a partner in a private equity/leveraged buyout firm. That group was just that...a group! They talked each deal over and jointly made a decision on which was to go and what to do. THAT'S NOT running a company!
Although Romney is probably the best of the four candidates left in the race, I KNOW all he would do if elected is eliminate all barriers to businesses and Wall Street, and make the SCOTUS extreme RW for the nest 25 years! |

7. Is he really, though?

The best of the four? I'm not convinced. He might be the worst. It's hard to tell, given his self-righteous claims to privacy and privilege.

8. Did I hear Mitt claim that his taxes plus charitable contributions were 40% of his income?
|
I thought I did, and unless I'm missing something that's simply BS. From what I saw, in 2010 he had 21.7 million in income, 3 million in taxes and 3 million in charitable contributions-- that works out to less than 28 percent. Maybe he was mixing up his return with Obama's, which showed a combined tax/charitable percentage of around 39 percent of income.

9. My fave line is when he said "I payed 40% bet taxes and charitable donations"
|
That won't play very well! less than 15% on taxes (mandatory)....more than 25% on charitable - optional? come on, Mitt.....
