david brooks on Daniels - "I'm crying on the inside that he is not running"

Huh?

Cogent speech? Quite a good job?

Republicans and Democrats just simply do NOT look at anything in the same way. The gulf between is infinite.

Edited to add.....I think I've got it.

Republicans revel in a life of misery (for everyone but themselves). The exude it from their pores. They hate life, they hate themselves, they just hate. Everything except their money.

Were lies. It was like listening to someone living in an altered reality. Matthews is nuts. One minute he is attacking republicans and an hour later he is fawning over their twisted logic.

is pretty damn low.

Daniels sounded more 'cogent' than any of the gop presidential candidates imo.

Not that that is saying much.

here's my current attempt. it's like watching a race car driver about to win the race... until at the last moment he decides to just plow into the wall (with a giant fireball ensuing...).

ok... sometimes he just plows into the wall right away... but still

At least a heck a lot better then then Mitt or Newt. I still think if he got it in a brokered convention, we would be in trouble.

2) he's really, really short

3) there will be no brokered convention. It would guarantee a 40-45 state defeat.

Boring, light on specifics, pessimistic - nothing great. He certainly didn't hit it out of the ballpark like maybe Clinton did in the 80s when he gave a response to Reagan (or Bush, I can't remember).

He's as much responsible for the fiscal mess that Bush dumped on Obama as anyone in that administration. With that background, he was totally disingenuous with his comments and criticisms. He ought to have taken the time to ask for our collective forgiveness.

That made the budget balance, you see!

He also obviously wants to make SS and Medicare into an entitlement program that will be easy to chop to death.

That Tweety gets excited about "bringing SS and Medicare" under control shows that Tweety really thinks like the 1%. Tip would be very, very disappointed in his protege.

I agree that this guy isn't as bad as Newt, but he ain't great.
