... but give me a break. For calling a girl beautiful he's being excoriated? I can find here on DU at least 100 posts in which Mrs Obama or Mrs Clinton is called beautiful. Where's the outrage for those?

I admit, I didn't see the game, but the quotes I've seen abstracted seem pretty harmless. Are you suggesting a 73 year old person is not permitted a sense of aesthetics, or just that a 73 year old person should keep his mouth shut about them?

once, twice, three times

but on and on

Nothing wrong with a 100 year old, let alone a youngster at 73,
but this is 2012, and it's embarrising.

It's not like its 1968 and Alabama's Joe Willie Namath making a Noxema shaving cream ad.

Times have changed, and all that.

they took down Dan Rather over Janet's Nipple at the super bowl.

man, and speaking that way on the air?

i read the story yesterday. and really do not care a whole lot about it, but that it made the old man look like a fool. but, i did think, we would never allow, nor would a woman even consider doing that to a man. it would just be unacceptable.

but, like i said, i only had a visceral interest in this story and why i came into this thread, to see responses. not cause i really care. we see often in society, men, old men, discuss young women in this manner.

most of us women have experienced this repeatedly. especially at that age. and no, not really comfortable. as a waitress when i was young, i got it often, plastered a smile and acted like it was not an issue, but then, i was living on tips so i really had no choice but to smile.
