I wonder if this is a contributor to violence in this country...

There are places that house people with mental illness... since section 8 is near impossible to get nowadays... It's religious based housing that forces mentally ill people in their care off their meds because they think jesus will heal them. This kind of thing isn't an anomaly. Some of these facilities are run by churches indirectly as money makers and religion pushing. Some take in minors and force them off medications doctors order for them. It's all done "cold turkey" Often including pain meds.

This crap is going on under the radar all over this country. Thanks to Bush-hole letting the fucking asshole churches "help"the mentally ill. There was a place near me that got shut down. The clients suffered, and it wasn't their fault they were not allowed to take meds that worked for them.I know some of the people that lived there.

Religion, it's like history class without facts. Myth as truth is poison.

4. I read all three articles you linked.

Not one said anything about being a Christian, or any other religion-based facility. Not one said anything about taking meds away. All three seemed to be saying that the state or local governments involved had failed. The third, the NJ one, was the worst. The state was placing people in this half-way house to free up prison beds, which they could then rent out to the federal government, and make some $$$.

The owner of the house in the first article admitted that he was just renting out rooms, and made no pretense to be running a program of any kind.

5. You did you read what my OP said?

There are christian run homes all over, some are not christian run..There is NO oversight ,no way to protect the people there from proseletyzers or abusers. I will never trust any place run by christians myself..I personally wish they'd get out of the helping and housing for vulnerable people business and keep it in church. Christian bigots are all over mental health services these days they do everyuthing they can to push BTW.Ever been in a group home or residential house ever been in a psych ward, ever see how bigoted staff let christians wear crosses but pagans have thier things confiscated because of some staffers religious neurosis is being imposed on them, under the guise of 'rules'? Ever get told transgender is a sin by a staff member? Ever get treated like crap because staff "don't believe in that?" I guess you haven't faced such discrimination and danger living in a setting supposed to be safe have you?

6. Yes, I read your OP

You made some assertions, then posted three articles to presumably back up those assertions. None of them did.

8. And I also read the three additional links...

Nothing posted in the OP or afterwards even remotely supports the idea that religious conservatives are behind this. It appears to be a serious problem with lack of access to quality mental health treatment, and some "entrepreneurs" are working outside the registration requirements and operating guidance. None of the examples cited appear to be faith-based, which is not to say that something of that nature might exist. But it's not proven here.

7. I hope there is a way to get this TRUTH out there.

In my life I have seen people I know let go because
they couldn't live up to the expectations of a religious community.

In fairness, I have seen lives enhanced by a set of guiding beliefs, also.

But when you lose a friend because he felt alone and unable to live up
to a particular faith's expectations, it makes you angry and sad that real
mental help wasn't available for him.
