Best Response Ever To Winger's Comparison Of Federal Budget/Debt - To Average Family Budget

This is the best response Iíve seen to the rightwing attempt to compare the federal budget / debt to an average familyís budget in the following way:

The teapartyís lame attempt to compare the federal budget to an average familyís budget

Federal budget:

U.S. Tax revenue: $2,170,000,000,000
Federal budget: $3,820,000,000,000
New debt: $ 1,650,000,000,000
National debt: $14,271,000,000,000
Recent budget cut: $ 38,500,000,000

Letís remove 8 zeros and pretend itís a household budget:

Annual family income: $21,700
Money the family spent: $38,200
New debt on the credit card: $16,500
Outstanding balance on the credit card: $142,710
Budget cuts: $385

1. If you are going to compare government to a family

then you need to carry it onward

I thought when a family lived together that everyone contributed what they could, not have the major earners keep all the money

4. To elaborate on your post,

can you imagine a family in which the parents buy themselves expensive, new cars and let the 10-year and 3-year-old kids starve because after all the kids don't have jobs and don't pay their way?

Can you imagine a family in which the grown-up kids starve their parents because the parents are too old to get decent jobs any more?

Can you imagine a family in which parents kick their grown kids out because the kids can't find work?

That's what Republicans want America to do.

We find a way to take care of all of us. It's what being a family or a nation is about.

2. You have just hit the jack pot....all the coins are coming down..this is it..

It is the bottom line, of what the assholes work on...Yes, they are assholes..

The U.S Government Debt has nothing to do with family debt...NOTHING AT ALL

All economists know there is no comparison..yet the assholes use this endlessly, and stupidity triumphs.
.Anyone who reads a little knows that we are ok, but the Republican Assholes continue..note they did not continue when they guy was the president,,,,another asshole named Bush....and he started a useless war in Iraq, killed tens of thousands ///

3. Well for one, I dont have a budget that is 60% of our spending

to purchase and maintain an arsenal which is used to occupy two of my neighbors homes and harass and intimidate the others by a show of force by parking a tank in my driveway.
