Gallup, 1/24: Gingrich 31%, Romney 27% (national poll)

National polling numbers, showing up just now on the Gallup home page:

That's a change of +3 for Gingrich and -2 for Romney since yesterday's results.

I just hope I don't regret saying that - because although unlikely - the wrong chain of events such as war in the Persian Gulf leading to an economic meltdown could have the potential for creating the catastrophe of a President Gingrich. That is unlikely - but not impossible. So with some fear and trembling and with prayers that somehow peace prevails on the Straits of Hormuz - I will say go - Newt Go - Because baring that possible but unlikely scenario - Newt would be the greatest gift to the Democratic Party since Barry Goldwater.

these results do not reflect any impact from last night's debate or this morning's tax release. Think we'll have a better read tomorrow.
