Boehner re-elected - did NOT see that coming

Here I thought the GOP was going to double down on Stupid, and put someone in there like Eric Cantor...

Not that Boehner isn't a complete idiot, but I thought he was a goner...

3. Cantor's Aides: He wants to be speaker, but not now, because its too hard

Public radio had a story this morning about the Speakership. They said Cantor's aides said he wants to eventually become Speaker, but didn't want to make a move now. It is because he expects the fights over the next year to be too bloody, and didn't want to be tarnished by them.

By the way, that is the way that Churchill became the British prime minister. A rival (the foreign minister) was the leading contender and the choice of the King, but he stepped aside because he thought Churchill would have to do a negotiated settlement with Hitler. He then thought Churchill would be so tarnished, that he could step in as Prime Minister to replace Churchill, without any baggage.

5. Funny because the fights wouldn't be bloody if not for little asswipes like Cantor.

So he causes the bloody fights while hiding behind Boehner, then wants to replace him when the hard work is done.
