I just heard one of the top of the hour news on the radio and it just mentioned the dollar amount without a single reference to the real story (the percentage and tax havens).

1. I knew that would happen.

That's why I thought Romney had no reason not to release his returns. Most Americans will look at the relatively large dollar amount and think, "Wow, he paid a lot of taxes," and not think about it in relation to his income.

Mr. Romney's unemployed and looking for a job. Let's not get all bent out of shape because he managed to scrape together a couple of dollars.

3. If the capital gains tax was zero (as Newt and others want to do) -

then Romney would have paid ZERO taxes. ZERO.
