Awesomest FR thread ever.

Who do you want as Speaker?

Posted on Wed Jan 02 2013 18:01:23 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time) by ConservativeMan55

If John B's out then ANYONE could become Speaker of the House.

How about Col. Allen West?

Or.. a more serious possibility.. Rep Louie Gohmert??

Where do we call to lobby the voters???

We could freep them!

1. They'd have to change their own rules to make Louie the Speaker of the House.

As it is, he's only allowed to speak after 11pm when everyone else has gone home for the night.

23. Apparently they seemed to have forgotten West LOST

Thankfully he won't be back in the 113th Congress' do-nothing House.

Yes, I know, theoretically there is nothing that says the speaker has to be a member of the House. But there are far too many members who want the gavel (if not in the next congress then some time later) to ever let that happen. They wouldn't want to set that precedent.

You can't see them, but they are singing "I am searching for my mainline" about the joys of heroin addiction. The song is called Sister Ray.

7. OHPLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASEOHPLEASE!!!!!1!

Man, nothing at all would be done, and the consequences of Gohmert as Speaker would make that old Will Farrell skit of Bush after he was elected look optimistic, but nothing else would guarantee the GOP to be completely destroyed forever than for Gohmert to become Speaker.

Voice of Advisor: Mr. President!

President George W. Bush: ( peeks out from under his desk ) No! I don't want to go out, it's too hard!

Voice of Advisor: You're on, Sir!

President George W. Bush: Awww.. ( jumps up and takes his seat ) Hey, America! So, how we all doing out there, huh? Yeah, not so good. I broke the Hoover Dam.. we had that war thing happen. But I mean, who ever heard of a Civil War, anyway? What is that? ( grabs a pair of binoculars, unscrews the lens, then pours alcohol from it into his mouth ) I have missed you, ol' buddy! ( pours it into his barbecue grill ) Whoo! I think we can agree, Americans, that these have been a difficult first two years of my presidency..

Voice of Advisor: You've been President for two weeks!

President George W. Bush: Really? Oh, man! I told you, this is hard! Okay, listen.. I'm just gonna get this Address thing over with. As we assess the State of the American Union today, we have reason to hope, because.. ( takes out a map which shows California and Florida as islands, Texas in Communist Mexico, and the Great Lakes on fire ) Holy crap! When did all this happen?! Wow.. the Great Lakes are on fire - even I know that's not good. ( laughs ) Okay, America, we got a lot of problems. I ain't gonna lie to you. But with the help of Vice-President Dick Cheney..

Voice of Advisor: You killed him in a hunting accident!

Sorry, even Will Farrell makes Dubya look smarter than Gohmert ever could be.

the Speaker be an elected member of Congress.

Even tough there has never been a Speaker who is not an elected member of Congress.

This is for citizens by citizens who stand behind one of the strongest Conservatives in Congress to be elected speaker in 2013. We need a speaker who speaks for us.

which makes conservatives hear complete sentences and rational speech come out of her mouth whenever she talks, instead of the batshit insane word-salad that the rest of us have to suffer through.

And if there's going to be a female version of Captain America, my vote goes to Alison Brie of 'Community' (the costume is a little too cheesecakey, though, imo, what with the bare midriff):
