2. I like it.

Funny how age is spun as a negative.

4. Nothing But A Long Goodbye...

A great song by singer/songwritter David Mallett. The first verse echos the sentiments of your quote:

(Lyrics only, couldn't find a video)

Some days shine so brightly
Like gold dust in a pan
Some days you hold so lightly
They go slippin' right through your hands
And those of us who are so very lucky
Get to grow old before we die

Sometimes it seems this old life
Ain't nothin' but a long goodbye

Fallin' leaves outside my window
On this October night
I do believe that the last rose of summer
Is fading from my sight
And when I see the seasons changing
Brings a tear unto my eye

Sometimes it seems this old life
Ain't nothin' but a long goodbye

Everyday people leaving
For someplace far away
Everyday people grieving
Over things they didn't do or say
And in the great big picture
It's just a twinkle of an eye

Sometimes it seems this old life
Ain't nothin' but a long goodbye

5. There Is A Line From...

...John Mellancamp that I use all of the time.

Growing old isn't for cowards.

16. It's a paraphrase of an old Bette Davis line:

"Old age isn't for sissies." (Bette Davis)

8. I knew a 95 year old who told me dancing keeps her alive.

She didn't do anything fancy, she just went to dances at a ballroom dance place for seniors a few times a week.

18. Could be. She moved to Long Beach, CA and I lost track of her.

She was amazing. She was never sick, had a sinewy, strong build, probably from all the dancing. And sharp as a tack.

9. Well, that's one way to look at it.

I'm gonna be 60 this year. So is my best friend. I've decided that it must mean we are just EXCRUCIATINGLY FASHIONABLE!

After all - what else could the trendy "Miss 60" clothing line possibly mean?

I AM "Miss 60"!!!

10. This reminds me of my Dear Mother...

...she was a do-er. One of the last things she said was..."I had so much to do, but I just ran out of time." I miss her so much...
