Chris Christie on federal spending - August 2012

"With $5 trillion in debt added over the last four years, we have no other option but to make the hard choices, cut federal spending and fundamentally reduce the size of government."

The House Republicans just made a hard choice, guv.

They made an easy choice. The hard choice is to cut defence spending and do things like allow medicare to bargain for medications. This is just political gamesmanship, and it's nonsense.

The got mine mentality means the hard choice is to screw someone else. Once it is you that gets screwed then suddenly Republicans in congress are tone def. They're tone def because people like Christie that feel they can say things like this in August and turn around and beg for money in January without any self awareness.
