After 40 Years, Research into Psychadelic Drugs Revives

Perhaps because of changing public attitudes on the War on Drugs, drugs like Psilocybin, LSD, and MDMA are once again becoming the subjects of serious research for therapeutic use.

This is good news for several reasons:

1. MDMA has great promise in PTSD treatment. With so many soldiers returning home from Iraq and Afghanistan, this is a big issue.

2. Longer-acting more effective treatments to depression with fewer side effects may be in the works.

3. A safe drug that seriously weakens the propensity for fear and anger long-term may become widely available and popular within the next 10 years.

The flip side is Big Pharma is going to do everything to get their dirty little hands on this stuff.
