Anyone ever worked as an SEO reviewer?

Is it worth it?

I saw it in this article, but as a skeptic, I have my doubts:

1. SEO is a scam.

A properly-designed web site needs no "SEO." These ads you see for SEO-related work are nothing more than fronts for outfits that approach naive business owners with wild promises that are impossible to provide or maintain. It's just a Google-gaming scheme that your "work" as an "SEO agent" contributes to. The end result is that the ultimate client (the naive business owner) pays for a service that eventually ends up penalizing their website's ranking due to "too much SEO activity."
