Are the White House and the Senate Democrats finally hearing the voices of the progressives...?

For too long, there was silence when the talk was about cutting Medicare and Social Security. Progressives did not think they should be on the bargaining table, seriously or not seriously. It showed a total lack of respect and concern for those folks that depend on those programs.

And now, they are talking about a $250K limit, instead of a million dollar or a $400K limit on the earnings that will not see their taxes go up. Many progressives do not agree with the $250K limit and do not consider it part of the "middle class". They do not think the President is being earnest when he talks about it as if it is the "middle class".

Hopefully, they have heard the voices of those in dissent over the hurrahs and cheering of those that dissent on nothing.

since last week...

What happened to the cuts in Medicare and Social Security? What happened to the $400K limit proposed by the White House?

I do not believe it was all part of the "plan" from the beginning. I think those that believe that are very naive.

many more people (ones who don't slam that label around) than them probably agree with them and have been arguing the same thing? I don't know who these "progressives" are because I've never heard anything that definitively makes me think they are anything other than disgruntled liberals who the Republicans shamed into adopting another name.

is one example of principled progressives, and I admire its members very much. I truly believe our country would be better off in every way if all Dems were members.

looks like the DINOs and 3rd way Dems have adopted Hate Radio's use of liberal as an insult. First Rahm, then Plouffe, and now DU. I suppose I should have seen that coming. Most of them are to the right of Reagan anyway.

there is no need for a different revolution

you gotta let things work the way they work in dealing with the environment one is in

It is far better to pick off republicans than to lose to the republicantealibertarians

as I said-
you plant a redwood seed(2008)it takes many, many years or decades for the fillfullment of the majestic redwood to be seen by all (ala the 9 step ahead plan)

as Lincoln showed, giving up somethings in name only, to get a far greater better is the way to go

even better is showing the public how bad the other side is

I don't think of those so much as progressive issues but more age related issues and when the old, who vote in droves, are riled politicians of both Parties (to the extent there are two Parties) hop to attention.
