Do you think they've given black leaders in the Administration a harder time than others?

if you include the president, certainly.

but below him? it certainly does seem like the highest scrutiny, false charges and combative stances have been towards black leaders in this administration.

do you agree?

the political equivalent of DWB for any non-white in the administration with the GOP acting in the role of the police.
Just the way things are and have been for over 200 years in racist America.

I sure do... The "they' in my book is Republican elected officials, right wing operatives, and the media. Same people that coasted into the House in 1994 on the lie that young black women were the root of all evil in America.

They - them - they have really refined their meme since Reagan's speech about the Welfare Queen.

Hope you and your family have had a wonderful holiday. I have been enjoying my break so much.

But my return here won't be long. I've only been "back" for a few days and am already blinded by the sense of deja vu. Same complaints from the same crowd who are never satisfied with anything and then wonder why no one gives them the time of day. They say that the mark of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Well, I have absolutely no interest in letting the obvious insanity plaguing GD on any given day make me crazy too.

Take care and have a wonderful New Year too!

may have to do with racism, but imo the larger part is because the economy has been stagnant, whereas clinton's was growing. in a growing economy, people;s lives feel better and they don;'t keep as sharp an eye on politicians because things seem 'normal'.

but also, the boomers are older and have seen more betrayals over the years, so are more suspicious.

that's a good thing, imo.

And I don't disagree. I've been very vocal at DU about what an absolute gift the Baby Boomers have been to America - especially in these times. That distrust is why should question the stories we are told.

but also, the boomers are older and have seen more betrayals over the years, so are more suspicious.

that's a good thing, imo.

I'm a turning 40 black woman who has the same family "dynamic" has Obama. Interpreted as - Cynical Asshole Gen Xer! I think we've been so bombarded by that coded racial hatred towards blacks - from white male Republicans . . . That we have severe distrust and question everything from that side - if that makes sense? IE Only one side has told horrible lies ABOUT me to gain power - so what are they lying TO me about?

Flip - I look at Obama and relate to him - he doesn't tell lies about me - so he's more trustworthy.

He puts people or ATTEMPTS to in his Administration, i believe that Republican White Males tell lies about them(goes to their record of lies told about me) - so I'm inclined to believe that they are out to get the minority President, his team, and me.
