As long as we're inventing ways to stop school shootings...

I think they have gunfire detectors - electronic devices that listen for the unique sonic signature of a gunshot. Put these in schools.

When one hears a gunshot, it electrically locks the room doors so they won't open from either side. It will also trigger the fire alarm so the students and staff will know to leave through classroom fire doors which go directly outside.

The only person with a key to reopen the doors is the county sheriff, who the system will call when it hears the shot.

Just getting rid of assault rifles isn't enough.

1. One hopes the shooter isn't locked in a room with the kids.

3. Some whack job could trip the alarm with firecrackers

Or have an accomplice inside shooting to trigger the alarm. Then when the students and teachers leave via the fire doors, they could be outside waiting and pick people off.

There is no way to be completely safe. It would help if there was better treatment of mental illness and sane gun laws, but given the history of this country I don't see that we can stop mass shootings.

4. We'll get right on that. Right after we find the money for textbooks.

6. Ok. So trhe public will pay for this system, and all new steele doors and locks, and the elimination

of corresponding windows.

In the meantime, permit me to remind you that the public doesn't even want to pay for books, supplies and extracurricular trips or activities.

The public will pay for sports teams however.

Priorities are a thing of the past in public education.

7. or RFID chips

if you can't walk out of a store with a bag of socks for fuck's sake.....

or gps, everybody is tracked everywhere they go by their cellphones.

make a gun that won't shoot unless you stick your cell phone in the stock. or have it within 3 feet.

i just invented two!
