6. No kidding. Saw on a Houston website he was put in the ICU on Sunday

So it's not like his turn for the worse happened, oh, last night. His daughter from the East Coast was going to fly in Wednesday. Yet Shrub is no where in site yet and no timeframe given on when he will show up.

I'm thinking the worsening of his condition, for whatever reason, is being downplayed. Early Wednesday morning I saw online that his spokesman said that the fever had subsided, then mid day Wednesday I saw a report from non-US media saying that the fever had come back and he had worsened...then a few hours later the spokesman said bascially Ooops, I was wrong, the fever has not gone away. Ok, Mr Spokesman, you are three days behind since he has been in the ICU since Sunday.

The same spokesman said in the Houston online article (when asked how Bush I looks right now) that he looks like "he went through a few rounds with Mike Tyson". Well that's a nice image to put out there....

for a little extra time to see my dad prior to his death. I said I was leaving no matter what. I got to him the evening of the night that he died. I still wish that I could have been there a day earlier when he was still able to communicate.

I miss my dad - it has been six years and it still hurts. What could keep someone from seeing their dad before he dies?

I'm so sorry for your loss, but sadly enough not all of us experience it the same way.

The Bushes are rich beyond the dreams of avarice, but I don't think Poppy and Babs were the warmest parents. In the early years of this board, a lot of effort was put into trying to psychoanalyze their son Dubya -- if any of what was said was true, it goes a long way toward explaining (though not excusing) some of his behavior.

24/7. My brother, sister, and I were there, one, two or all of us every day, every hour. And we weren't so rich that taking off work and traveling was easy.

8. Can we make a pact to try our damndest to prevent "presidential canonization" when dubya kicks it?

If I am still alive when dubya exits this world, I will do my part to prevent people from forgetting his atrocities.

Poppy isn't much better, but dubya was by far worse.

...McGrath says Bush is alert and conversing with medical staff, and that doctors are cautiously optimistic about his treatment.

No other details about his medical condition were provided, but McGrath says Bush is surrounded by family.

Earlier Wednesday, McGrath said a fever that kept Bush in the hospital over Christmas had gotten worse and that doctors had put him on a liquids-only diet.

A bronchitis-like cough initially brought Bush to the hospital in late November. McGrath says the cough has improved.

Are they still trying to figure out if Arafat was killed by it?

That estate tax is looming. They'd hate to have to count the money in order to report it.
