The knives are out: Report: Right-Wingers Plot Coup to Oust Boehner As House Speaker

When members of Congress vote next month to determine who shall lead the House, odds are increasingly dim for House Speaker John Boehner's hold on power.

Since the failure of his Plan B proposal for extending the Bush-era tax cuts for all but the riches Americans -- those with an annual income of $1 million or more -- pundits and pols have been raising the spectre of a new speaker of the House come the next Congress. The pundits, for once, appear to be onto something.

Although Boyle relies entirely on unnamed sources, he obtained a document laying out the plan, which is currently being circulated among right-wing members of the House. The irony is that they plan to use Boehner's promotion of an anti-union position favored by the Tea Party as the rationale for making the rules change.

1. Who do you think they'd tap for a new speaker?

I'm kind of drawing a blank.

5. they'll cut their own throats

By electing one of these extreme teabaggers and even less will get done than is getting done now.

I'm looking forward to that.

13. UNFORTUNATELY, that would likely bring about

"2016 Obama's America" more than anything Obama could EVER do ...

4. that Boehner is the best they are going to get is a sad, sad, state of affairs for America

Maybe the dems could take back the house after all in 2014
It might be easier than thought

but these guys want anarchy or no government at all

where they think they are going with it, I don't have a clue

8. Take back the House in 2014?

That does not appear to be the desire of those who want a repeat of the disasterous 1994 Congressional elections by pushing for legislation which was not and is not supported by a great many voters.

15. maybe 1% of the democrats care about this. Way overrated as an issue.99% of the dems don't.

BTW-the president got much stronger after the 1994 elections, didn't he?

and we already have our Newts, therefore it is nothing like 1994 at all.

Anything that happens will be blamed on the repubs and be a win-win-win for the democrats

19. No. According to Clinton in his autobiography, the passage of the unpopular legislation contrary to

the Constitutional protection of the Second Amendment was a signifigant factor in the losses during the 1994 election.

He seems to have some political expertise in the area.

20. Time is different. The NRA has committed war crimes like crimes

NRA keeps stale soundbytes

this is not the 1850s, the 1950s, the 1980s, and we aren't next week partying like it's 1999

this is 2012

when a watered down bill happens, there will be another incident
then another
then another

and it will happen

step by step

it can be done instantly Dec. 2014
of course 1000 more kids could die by then

but then the NRA don't care how much blood is on their hands
like all murderers, the NRA must figure after the first, there is no downside to more and more blood.

if corporations are persons, the NRA has committed more war crimes than any single person in the history of the world 100 times over.

11. Boehner is a halfwitted buckethead

but, all this fiscal cliff stuff ... They overthrow him and it is a completely up in the air if these asshats can even get an extension on the middle class tax cuts. And, people who think any kind of firearm legislation is going to get done are going to be sorely disappointed.

They get a winger freaknut as SOTH, and all we will get for 2 years from the House is "traditional marriage" bills and impeachment hearings.

18. WTF? "use existing constitutional law ... chosing someone who is not a member of Congress"

What does that mean? How can you elect a Speaker who is not a member of Congress? Does that mean the Speaker would be the head of the body but would not have a vote?
