(22,144 posts)That is more a movie studio thing, not a local station thing.
Also not clear that there was any support for that in DC law.

(35,325 posts)he borrowed it to illustrate it on TV. This stuff is a stupid as about 98% of the politically correct language bullshit. What you gonna do put him away for 5 years because he made an anti-gun commentary? I don't even care for the guy in first place but this is ridiculous. I highly doubt David Gregory is going to commit a mass murder.

(83,746 posts)I hope that the"you ever think...." does not mean me.
IMHO. LaPierre is the lawbreaker here. The NRA and LaPierre's interpretation of the 2nd amendment is a gross misinterpretation. It does not allow every man, woman and child to arm themselves with AK 47's ... unrestricted.
They want to go after Gregory! And not the ones that enable the sale and use of these weapons!

(2,163 posts)Most cops are told to not be in the business of giving legal advice or give opinions of
how a law is to be interrupted.
They learn that early on in academy.
I'm not saying it's impossible that he found a cop to tell him it was alright.
It's just highly unlikely one would.

It makes right-wingers look like petulant, big government babies who are only interested in the 'letter of the law' when it allows them to persecute people they don't like, and what's the downside? A little inconvenience for one shameless corporate media shill? Color me unconcerned.
