Where is the Outrage!
Washington D.C. police investigating whether NBC’s David Gregory violated law
This is just so f’ng childish and stupid. A bunch of RW sites started cawing http://www.theblaze.com/stories/did-nbcs-david-gregory-violate-d-c-gun-law-on-national-tv/the other day that for all that Gregory was attacking LaPierre, the mere fact that he had a magazine in D.C. made him more of a law breaker than Wayne, and where is the OUTRAGE!! So they went and ginned up a crime and actually got the D.C. police to investigate. Ugh.
I do not like David Gregory all that much...However...! http://thepoliticalcarnival.net/2012/12/25/washington-d-c-police-investigating-whether-nbcs-david-gregory-violated-law/

4. I doubt that existed
|
That is more a movie studio thing, not a local station thing.
Also not clear that there was any support for that in DC law. |

The term large capacity ammunition feeding device shall not include an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition." |

3. You ever think maybe it was confiscated by the DC police and
|
he borrowed it to illustrate it on TV. This stuff is a stupid as about 98% of the politically correct language bullshit. What you gonna do put him away for 5 years because he made an anti-gun commentary? I don't even care for the guy in first place but this is ridiculous. I highly doubt David Gregory is going to commit a mass murder.

I hope that the"you ever think...." does not mean me.
Gregory was attacking LaPierre, the mere fact that he had a magazine in D.C. made him more of a law breaker than Wayne, and where is the OUTRAGE!
IMHO. LaPierre is the lawbreaker here. The NRA and LaPierre's interpretation of the 2nd amendment is a gross misinterpretation. It does not allow every man, woman and child to arm themselves with AK 47's ... unrestricted. They want to go after Gregory! And not the ones that enable the sale and use of these weapons! |

11. I just read a few minutes ago on Yahoo news that NBC did consult a couple DC
|
police officers before Gregory showed the magazine. They gave them bad advice I guess.

14. They probably told him to read the statute.
|
Most cops are told to not be in the business of giving legal advice or give opinions of
how a law is to be interrupted. They learn that early on in academy. I'm not saying it's impossible that he found a cop to tell him it was alright. It's just highly unlikely one would. |

It makes right-wingers look like petulant, big government babies who are only interested in the 'letter of the law' when it allows them to persecute people they don't like, and what's the downside? A little inconvenience for one shameless corporate media shill? Color me unconcerned. |
