1. The funnest one is the literalists who

say that the Canaanite genocide was ok because the innocent babies got to go straight to heaven.

2. Also, I heard the argument a few moments ago

That Jesus fulfilled the role as the messiah. Except he didn't.

3. He partially filled it

When he comes back it will be finished. Of course the prophets never clarified this fact or implied that the time would be longer between these two events than the calling of Abraham to the birth of Jesus.

4. Not according to Judaism, to which the Christian messiah is based off of

There are many reasons that I could list, but I won't.

6. I would be interested in hearing the reasons.

I have never taken that thing about the messiah too seriously, but a lot of people do, and I was raised in a religion that taught that Jesus was the messiah. I don't see the importance of it, but what are the reasons that Jesus is not the messiah according to Judaism? Interesting if you would like to tell me. You can write me privately if you don't want to stir up a storm. Thanks.

11. OK, here's 6

1. The messiah/moshiach would be completely human. Not a god, God nor a demigod (human that has one parent that is a god).
2. The messiah would do ALL of the prophecies in his or her single lifetime.
3. He will be well-versed in Jewish law, and observant of its commandments (Isaiah 11:2-5). Jesus break the Jewish law.
4. He will be a great military leader, who will win battles for Israel.
5. Gather exiles; restore of the religious courts of justice; an end of wickedness, sin, and heresy.
6. He shall rebuild the Temple, continue services inside and perform sacrifices (Ezekiel 37:24-28 Ezekiel 40-48, Isaiah 33:20, Micah
4:1)

Now, there was a military leader, Simon bar Kochba (died CE 135), who came much closer to being the messiah. However, he died and therefore, not the messiah.

5. Whenever a religion is described by someone outside that religion...first rule -

Accuracy is usually never the objective nor achieved.
Second rule - there is ALWAYS a negative motive.
Third rule - Ignore for obvious reasons-see first two rules.

10. That fight has been going on since there was a Peter and a Paul.

And that takes us all the way back to the time of Jesus.

The idea that Christ's death and resurrection fulfills the law versus, no it doesn't.
