1. Part of his "1,000,000 more cops" included officers in school, I think through D.A.R.E.
|
D.A.R.E. was the rubric under which my high school had police officers in it in the 90s, at any rate.

2. I'm afraid I can't help debunk it...
|
...because it's true. Here's a link to a LA Times/AP article from April of 2000:
http://articles.latimes.com/2000/apr/16/news/mn-20323 Relevant excerpt: Clinton also unveiled the $60-million fifth round of funding for "COPS in School," a Justice Department program that helps pay the costs of placing police officers in schools to help make them safer for students and teachers. The money will be used to provide 452 officers in schools in more than 220 communities. Not sure what to make of this. Bill Clinton remains one of my political heroes...but he was not immune to poor judgement. Er...obviously. |

Last edited Mon Dec 24, 2012, 05:40 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) What if Clinton did say it? Does it mean that all Democrats are now forbidden to ask for a different policy? Unlike Republicans, we can change our minds if other facts come to light or circumstances change.

That is, if this is even true. Edit: hadn't noticed Sanity Claws. Well, great minds think alike, apparently. |
