4. The NRA has trained many black people to use arms for self-defense, though they usually don't
|
advocate illegal activities like teenaged public carry (the only type of gun use that would have helped Trayvon Martin).

5. You should have stuck with your deleted message...
|
For one, your NRA appologism is showing; secondly, you know god-damned well the overall message of the OP.

19. how many? i looked it up, there were 12 blacks at the 73,000 person nra conference

Last edited Tue Dec 25, 2012, 06:45 PM USA/ET - Edit history (3) here is 1 black member of the nra saying this-
" By my own personal accounting, I met twelve (12) black persons in attendance at the conference in St. Louis. I may have missed a few but not many. Previously, I had attended the 2010 meeting in Charlotte. Sadly, I must report that both aforementioned events lacked significant participation by black people. Now that’s what I call understatement. Twelve African Americans at a convention with over 73,700 attendees" http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2012/04/robert-farago/rick-ector-why-the-nra-doesnt-include-blacks/ here is another FACT The National Rifle Association is politically and socially powerful, there is no disputing that. They have their tentacles deeply buried in our legislative discourse and have successfully maintained their stronghold despite many gun massacres and other gun violence over the years. http://www.allvoices.com/contributed-news/13670910-what-if-the-nra-had-a-membership-of-mostly-blacks if you can't understand that, go away |

7. Hahahaha... Ain't it the truth.
|
Instead, the NRA lauded Zimmerman for "protecting himself".

Black people are what the NRA thinks you should be armed against, not what you should be arming.

Last edited Tue Dec 25, 2012, 02:18 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1) ... Because part of the origin of gun rights activism in America started with the black rights groups.
They carried openly and state and local governments passed laws against it which they then fought. |

20. well, sort of .... The NRA supported gun-control regulation until about the mid '70s
|
when it was taken over by hard-liners.
The Black Panthers and the urban riots of the sixties did precipitate the first round of gun-control laws, supported by then Gov. Ronald Reagan. great article on the subject: http://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2011/09/the-secret-history-of-guns/308608/2/?single_page=true For much of the early history of the US, blacks, free or slave, were prevented from owning guns. |

10. Trayvon certainly
|
would have been justified by the "Stand Your Ground Law" as he was followed and accosted by Zimmerman. Got to be one of the stupidest laws on the books.

12. Federal law prohibits it.
|
Sub-21 year olds are forbidden to carry a pistol concealed, legally.
I'll believe the NRA is sincere, if they work to change that. (The NRA is not sincere) |

13. The Second Amendment was written by white slave-owners....
|
therefore only white slave-owners have the right to keep and bear arms.

|
It came as no surprise to me that they have been cheering him on all along.
