I am watching Star Trek 6, which was about the end

of the Cold War.

"They are dying, Jim."

"Let them die!"

There is a lot to learn here as we watch the Republican Party die.....

1. This is one of my favorite ST films.

I agree that if the repubs are too ignorant and arrogant to reform the party should go away and a more same version should take it's place.

2. Well, it's an even numbered Trek, meaning by nature it's going to be superior.

Except perhaps for 3, which had its moments.

But 2 will always be the standard by which all others are measured. Truly epic.

6. I was thinking original cast movies only.

With TNG, the rules are all off.

I know there are only 6 TOS movies, but 2, 4, and 6 are arguably superior to 3, and beyond all shadow of a doubt superior to 1 and 5.

5. Uttered by the imitiable George Takaei.

I love that guy!

"That's a big ship!"
"Not so big as it's Captain".

8. That was the perfect send-off for Kirk and the original TOS crew

Generations sort of undid the perfect ending for them IMHO.

Captain James T. Kirk: No! No! Of all the - son of a - Couldn't you have waited two seconds? They were just about to tell us the whole thing!
Commander Pavel Andreievich Chekov: You want to go back?
Commander Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, M.D.: Absolutely not!
