The Country's biggest Asshole!

David Koch Spokesman Tells Hurricane Sandy Victims To ‘Suck It Up’

In a week when this guy is almost universally panned as the country’s biggest asshole, a perennial contender managed to slip under the radar. The election is over, but David Koch is already threatening sitting Republicans with a hurricane of attack ads if they dare divert money from his pockets and into the pockets of the victims of Hurricane Sandy.

From Lee Fong of The Nationhttp://www.thenation.com/blog/171906/david-koch-now-taking-aim-hurricane-sandy-victims# (emphasis added):

Earlier this week, AFP, which is chaired by Koch and believed to be financed by several other plutocrats from the New York City region, released a letter warning members of Congress not to vote for the proposed federal aid package for victims of the storm that swept New Jersey, New York City and much of the surrounding area in October. An announcement on the group’s website says that the vote next week for the Sandy aid package will be a “key vote”—meaning senators who support sending money for reconstruction could face an avalanche of attack ads in their next election. Already, opposition to the bill is growing, although it passed one procedural hurdle last night.

There is some legitimate criticism with aspects of the legislation, including the fact that some of the money will go to non-Sandy related reconstruction efforts in disaster areas. For AFP, however, the whole bill must die and victims of the storm deserve no help from the government.

Koch’s top deputy in New Jersey, a surly gentleman named Steve Lonegan, who heads the local AFP state chapter, called the aid package a “disgrace.” “This is not a federal government responsibility,” Lonegan told reporters. “We need to suck it up and be responsible for taking care of ourselves.”

Are you laughing yet? Of course not, you have a heart, but dismay would be appropriate. While David Koch is telling people who have lost their homes – arguably partly caused by climate change, which is made worse by companies like his – to “suck it up,” he is sucking off the government teat. Yasha Levine does a great job of outlining the many ways in which the Koch Industries are welfare queens that are the envy of all welfare queens. Oil holdings and paper sales aside, the Koch brothers owe much of their wealth to tax loopholes and tax subsidies.

1. Just how much are we willing to take from these assholes?

These people are the lowest slime that there is. How long are the people going to put up with these callous pieces of shit? How long until the pitchforks come out for real?

These people need to be taken down a few notches.

2. I knew I'd heard that name before. What an asshole (Lonegan, that is...)

Wiki: "In 2006, Lonegan asked the outdoor advertising company, CBS Outdoor, to remove a McDonald’s advertisement in Spanish from a local billboard. The company refused. Without apparent legal remedy, Lonegan filed papers for a public referendum in Bogota on making English the official language for the municipality. The public question was rejected by the County Clerk’s office, which is partly responsible for officiating elections, on legal advice that it violated state and federal law.
The next year, Lonegan hired two illegal aliens, paying them each $80 to put together political signs for Americans for Prosperity. Lonegan left the men to do the work at a property he owned in town, where they were picked up by police after a neighbor spotted them. Lonegan said the men had told him they had legal documentation and later argued that local police, angered by tough labor negotiations with his office, had targeted him.
On January 19, 2008, Lonegan and a local radio talk show host were arrested by New Jersey State Police troopers for trespassing at a town hall meeting scheduled by Gov. Corzine at a high school in Middle Township, New Jersey. Lonegan and the radio host were standing on the school's lawn protesting when police and school officials asked them to move to a designated protest area and remove a sign they were holding. Police arrested them when they refused. School officials later apologized and police dropped the charges.

3. It's a title that could be challenged by a few people, these last few months,.

Certainly, Kock and his spokeman are there. LaPierre is a challenger. As are DeMint and Grover Norquist.

7. Netflix has a documentary on Lonegan.

He's a wack job but he's New Jersey's own. He has run for several N.J. offices. Somehow, he always loses.

10. The Koch's have almost unlimited money

the only way to combat that is to make that money "poison", so that no one will touch it.

That will be difficult to do. But it is possible.
