Did Gregory break the law...

He's waving an AR-15 30 round magazine around.

"DC High Capacity Ammunition Magazines - D.C. Official Code 7-2506.01

(b) No person in the District shall possess, sell, or transfer any large capacity ammunition feeding device regardless of whether the device is attached to a firearm. For the purposes of this subsection, the term large capacity ammunition feeding device means a magazine, belt, drum, feed strip, or similar device that has a capacity of, or that can be readily restored or converted to accept, more than 10 rounds of ammunition. The term large capacity ammunition feeding device shall not include an attached tubular device designed to accept, and capable of operating only with, .22 caliber rimfire ammunition.."

Will he be prosecuted?

16. Here is the true story, from a decent source.

http://www.nytimes.com/2004/09/27/politics/campaign/27guns.html

Senator John Kerry's campaign said yesterday that Mr. Kerry did not own a Chinese assault rifle, as he was quoted as saying in Outdoor Life magazine, but a single-bolt-action military rifle, blaming aides who filled out the magazine's questionnaire on his behalf for the error.

But thanks for your freeper links.

machine gun - registered or otherwise.

Kerry was a key person for the AWB in the 1990s and repeatedly spoke of how machine guns were NOT for hunting.

Under any other circumstances (e.g., someone possessing it other than a member of the media, which is of course all too important to any establishment) law enforcement would jump on the opportunity to press charges against someone in possession of something that's banned, especially since the banned object in question is firearms related.

85. It's also illegal to drink alcohol on the air, isn't it? Rachel Maddow did.

She did a routine a few weeks ago where she mixed up her favorite drink and drank it. It tied in with some story she was telling.

90. Cable programming isn't held to the same standards.

With respect to cable and satellite services, Congress has charged the Commission with enforcing the statutory prohibition against airing indecent programming "by means of radio communications." The Commission has historically interpreted this restriction to apply to radio and television broadcasters, and has never extended it to cover cable operators. In addition, because cable and satellite services are subscription-based, viewers of these services have greater control over the programming content that comes into their homes, whereas broadcast content traditionally has been available to any member of the public with a radio or television.
