Tagg Romney: Mitt 'Wanted To Be President Less Than Anyone I've Met'
Tagg Romney said his father "wanted to be president less than anyone I've met in my life," according to the Boston Globe.
“He had no desire,” the eldest Romney son said. “If he could have found someone else to take his place ... he would have been ecstatic to step aside. He is a very private person who loves his family deeply and wants to be with them, but he has deep faith in God and he loves his country, but he doesn’t love the attention." Tagg Romney told the paper that his father was resistant to running because of his unsuccessful 2008 bid for president. The oldest Romney son was an instrumental figure in his father's political career. He served as an adviser to the 2012 campaign, and has worked on previous campaigns. more . . . http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/12/23/tagg-romney-mitt-romney-president_n_2355701.html?utm_hp_ref=fb&src=sp&comm_ref=false#sb=321613,b=facebook

13. When writers refer to resources provided by taxes they need to
|
refer to that money as "ours" or the "tax-payer's" not as the government's money.
Providing "transition team" monies to candidates before they have won an election is a shameful waste of our dollars. The money would have been better spent insuring that all eligible citizens could easily cast their votes and that their votes would be accurately counted. Tagg, if your dad was so reluctant to run for president, why did he do it? Who was it that wanted him in that position if he didn't want to be there? Your mother? The Mormon Church? His rich friends? Dressage enthusiasts of America? Why did he allow all that money, both his friend's money and our's, to be spent (wasted) chasing and unwanted prize? Why isn't your dad, or you for that matter, embarrassed by his perpetual and pathological lying? Tagg, are you a liar too? Are you lying to us now? |

19. I strongly suspect it was the LDS Church that pushed him to run.

They desperately wanted him to fulfill the White Horse Prophesy.

22. Yep, and I sincerely doubt that Mittens did not love the idea of being
|
the white, jack-ass prophet. This was his destiny. Ascendant Mormonocracy under Mitt.
The radiant sun, in the form of golden tablets, was to rise each morning as Mitt and Ann rode across the skies in a chariot drawn by white, dressage horses. This was supposed to be the new aged heralded by the Mayan soothsayers, an age of jet-suits and ice-cream franchises. An age when blonde boys on bicycles are accorded their due respect. An age when women, rightfully return to the kitchen to prepare green jello for family reunions. An age that demonstrates to the world that Mitt, himself, is Joseph Smith incarnate and that Mormonism is the one true faith. People everywhere were to name their children Mitt and Tagg and Ann. Private car elevators were going to be the new sign of success. And Ann was to finally have had her turn. Her turn to be vindictive toward all those, who looked askance at her for "going Mormon for the money". She would be queen and show those socialites that she was not only richer than they but more powerful. She would make them bow. Why would Mitt want this for himself or his family? Becoming president was to validate everything in Mitt's world and it was to serve as validation of the Mormon faith. What will he, or they, do now? |
