Put an armed guard in every school? Let's see what the costs are for the weapons alone

OK the number of public schools in America is 98,817, from here:
http://www.infoplease.com/askeds/number-us-public-schools.html

And the cost of a good, high capacity weapon - let's use the Bushmaster (hey, let's make it a fair fight) - $949
http://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-rifles/bushmaster-ar15-rifle-m4-a3-patrol-rifle-detail.html?Itemid=0

And I'm excluding taxes, salaries, ammunition and administrative costs.

And keep in mind that this is a bare-bones back-of-the-envelope calculation here....

The grand total is.... $93,777,333 All for gun manufacturers alone.

Lapierre may be an idiot, but he can do the arithmetic.

I see sidearms, Defenders (police shotguns) and stun grenades.

And then there are vests, extra clips, helmets, uniforms, combat boots, etc.

Let the gun nuts pay for the solution they came up with.
