IMO, Cantor has been setting Boehner up to fail so he can become speaker.

Keeping that drunkard Boehner twisted into a knot and attacking him from all sides over this 'fiscal cliff' business is assuring that Boehner is seen as a poor leader from both sides.

And, he's right. Boehner is blowing it because he can't stick to his agreements or stay sober and coherent enough to be an honest broker.

I see this latest vote on Plan B as Boehner's Waterloo.... as manipulated by Eric Cantor.

2. Cantor and Iago are cut from the same cloth.

The only difference is that a few people suffered as a result of Iago's machinations...with Cantor an entire country will suffer!!!

3. Yep ...

I watched Cantor walking out of the chamber after the vote was pulled.

He looked like a teenager boy, headed to the locker, after getting his first piece. You know he's gonna tell.

4. Agree. I think we are seeing a coup in the GOP House leadership.

5. No Cantor is just as inept as the rest of them

there is no great scheme here. Cantor won't survive if Boehner doesn't - the RW hates Cantor.

9. I agree...

Cantor may be next in line but really he is as sunk as Boehner is after this. I could be wrong as who else can the GOP pick from in their leadership team? Cantor may get the Speakership by default.

6. Yep, and hte knife went squarely into Boehner's back tonight.

Boehner will NOT be Speaker of the 113th Congress.

And Cantor thinks HE has it in the bag, but Boehner loyalists will insure that doesn't happen.

Prepare for MAJOR OPEN GOP Civil War now.

16. In a Civil War scenario, mostly likely outcome is Speaker Paul Ryan

Unless, of course, Dems can convert 17 Republicans fearful of being too closely associated with teabaggers. Then it's Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

8. I couldn't agree with you more.

I'm certain Cantor's been telling Boehner that he had the votes ready to go when they were needed, lying through his clenched teeth.

11. One other point, Cantor is unlikely to win.

Most likely outcome of a GOP scenario if at least 17 Republicans do not jump ship and vote for Pelosi is Speaker Paul Ryan.
