1. "Offered a turkey" sums it up quite well, yes.

2. The "failing to comply" seems to be unquestioned.

Lots of witnesses to it.

What is questionable is the attempt to stop him in the first place.

8. the important thing is disabled people will be beaten until they comply as a non-disabled person

just keep beating him until he's not developmentally disabled anymore.

if you don't respond the right way and it's because of your disability, a good old fashioned beatin is what they have to do.

and clearly he was walking down the street in a threatening and disabled manner, so they beat him.

yeah, i'm pissed.

3. "Woops ... hey, sorry 'bout that"

I'm hearing impaired and I worry that some time some cowboy with a badge will mumble some request to me and I won't comply soon enough to suit him because I didn't hear or understand properly, then things will turn real bad real quick. I seem to read stories just like this one way too often.

6. Don't have to be hearing-impaired

I was pulled over by a CHP; I didn't understand the instructions he was barking at me over the PA system. I finally did figure out what he wanted and did it, but he was seriously ready to administer a beatdown when he got to my car. I think the only thing that saved me that night was that I am a middle aged white guy.

7. I'd be in a world of shit.

This is why I keep the results of my latest hearing exam in my glove box.

4. We'll take the turkey, and you'll be hearing from our lawyer!

This, of course, was just "one bad apple" cop, right?

Yeah, I thought so.

9. taxpayers need to be hearing that they'll be paying the damages to this family

maybe that will finally put enough pressure to stop this kind of crap

10. You'd think so, but it hasn't so far.

What's the tipping point for police brutality? There's as much of that as there are school shootings. At least that's my guess, and no, I don't have any stats to back that up. Shooting, so to speak, from the hip. Pardon the turn of phrase.
