11. In the thumb of MI...looks about the same

If anything, where the sun is setting, if you could see it, seems darker than the eastern horizen. But there's nothing but cold, drizzle, winds pushing the skies, although you can't make out individual clouds. Just grey, greyer and gloomy.

So grey that if I didn't know where the sun goes down every day I wouldn't kow where to look...

Where are you?

Thu Dec 20, 2012, 05:06 PM

21. We have cows and there is a road through their pasture with a gate at one end

Other side of the gate is a public road, and on that road lives my Rapture neighbor.

We drove to the gate the other day (someone has been messing with it, so we check it every so often so no one steals our cows, which is happening in this economy). I got out of the jeep, walked to the gate, then walked in a ever decreasing circle to a point, then stepped in my own tracks to get back to the jeep.

And told dh that if it was old Rapture-Ready messing with the locks, that with a bit of the falling snow to blur the edges, the single tracks would look like I'd been raptured right at the gate and that it would freak 'em out thinking that I the non believer had been saved, while they'd been forgotten. Can't tell you how many times I've been lectured on this.

Dh is used to me doing stuff like this, and laughed...and then carefully backed the jeep about a quarter of a mile towards our house, without going outside of the original tracks, so that it would look like my jeep went with me....

27. And I'm not seeing anything in the sky, either. I did see a star last night in that direction

that was so much brighter than any other that I took note of it (we have zero light pollution way out here).

But nothing today and it is partly sunny/bitter cold here.

of helium-filled blow-up sex dolls into the skies. Would be absolutely hilarious in red states.

47. No, but I haven't run into them yet. And I'll know by the look on RR's face:)

Old Rapture Ready is fairly transparent about such things, and doesn't think very deeply about anything other than the rapture liftoff.

It was funny at first, then it was tiresome, then irritating when I had to hear about non-believers like me and what was gonna happen when I was left behind, and now that I'm playing with it, its become fun again

But when I saw these rapture and LOOK AT THE LIGHT IN THE NE posts, I thought maybe I was going straight to hell for this, lol...

20. Don't worry about the light - we're cool as long as no one hears music:

...
So when the last and dreadful hour
This crumbling pageant shall devour,
The trumpet shall be heard on high,
The dead shall live, the living die,
And Music shall untune the sky!

43. My 13 year old daughter figured it out too.

She started to figure out where it would turn 12/21/12 first ... and then saw that it would not yet be 12/21/12 everywhere else.

Then she found that by the time it was 12/21/12 everywhere else, it wasn't going to be 12/21/12 in some of the first locations.

Her survival plan was to fly away from 12/21/12 initially so that she was never in a place where it was 12/21/12, and then fly BACK to a place that was 12/22/12.

Her alternative plan was to leverage the day light savings model, and instead of turning the clocks ahead 1 hour, you turn them ahead an entire day so that you jump over 12/21/12, and go straight to 12/22/12.
